Since I'm dealing with heat issues on the drivers side, I tried using the Ms can blue adapter to calibrate the blend doors but keep getting an error. Any clues as to what is going on?

Are you using an SGM Bypass cable?

No other warnings. I am using MX+ currently
Oh, I thought you were using a cheaper (blue) OBDII reader (I misread that). I don't believe you need the adapter with the MX+. Remove it and try again with just the MX+ and SGM bypass.

On Alfa there are 3 options...the first 2 will not connect. The 3rd option states that you must use the MS Can Blue Adapter

I "think" the OBDLink MX+ does what that adapter does logically on the fly by detecting the type of connection and changing the pins logically (which is why it costs considerably more than other readers). Are you saying you tried it without the Blue Adapter? If so, where/how are you plugging in to bypass the SGM?

It's basically the one that is the pass through type that plugs into the OBD. I've used this bypass cable to change a good bit of stuff on my 2018 2500

Get that message sometimes. because you have picking wrong year/truck/module to connect to, Or the module is defective.(Also when Alfa doesn't support a feature correctly)

Not sure what you mean by you used "Ms can blue adapter"
As @SitKneelBend mentioned above, MS Can Blue adapter isn't anything you need to worry about.

You don't need to do that. Just plug in SQG cable/module and MX+.

I know it says that, but that is AlfaOBD saying that and not the OBDLink MX+. The purpose for those adapters is to physically switch the pins for a successful connection. The MX+ can do the pin switch logically. Can you post what module you are connecting to from the start screen?

If it failed to connect entirely, I'd say that it's possible there is another star connector that you would need to connect to because the module in question is not on that CANBUS network. I think our trucks have two networks A and B.

Before you make any changes I would confirm that you have removed the Blue Adapter and tried again.

Screen looks correct. But I agree with above.

That bypass you have is only bypassing the CAN C bus (only plugs into one junction block).
The hvac module is on the CAN IHS bus, which is not being bypassed on your truck with that particular bypass.
