Does anyone have first hand experience on how these settings make the truck react?

Of course it seems like which electric fan in use would influence which settings used.

What is set as the factory? I’m assuming the v8 uses single speed and the v6 uses the drop resistor. Series parallel I’m not sure and pwm is the eco diesel fan and newer pentastar fans. Almost curious if this setting could work to make the pentastar fan work in our truck with the additional wiring and harness. @Wild one maybe we can talk to mike and see if he wants to try messing with it.

not sure the PWM configuration would do anything from the BCM. If memory serves correctly the PWM fan in the EcoDiesel is ran from the ECM.

What about in the 2013 and newer pentastar? Same thing? They use 2 different fans

I'm not up on the eco-diesal or pentastar fans, but to me,these settings look more like they'd apply to the 5th Gen fans then the 4th Gens

not sure about the Pentastar. One of the ECM updates for the EcoD made the cooling fan scream under certain conditions. A tuner revealed that was done in the ECM on that platform, I would gather the gassers are similar

I’d be curious because the ecm is what is reading engine load and coolant temp which is what changes the fan speed but the fan pwm wire I think still goes through the tipm/ipc. Everything is communicating through the canbus though. I wish I knew where my pentastar pwm fan was. I would give it a try. I still have the harness for it

AlfaOBD on Windows/Android, and an OBDMX device, then you can get into the ECM, and change that. I am still working on it myself, as I have the stupid security crap, so need a bypass cable to, but I believe in OP's screenshot, under the "fan type" selection, is the temp setting, as that is at least part of what OP is working on.
