Update on my DRL's: I contacted the app developer (A VERY helpful guy) and he confirmed my suspicion that since I was able to change other codes, the problem shouldn't be with my ELM327 OBD dongle. He said that his app only shows changes that the body control module computer can support, so if I wasn't seeing the CSM codes, then my truck's BCM computer doesn't support them. I was bummed, to say the least.

HOWEVER: Today I was on a short trip and pulled up behind an SUV at a stop light and noticed that I saw an amber reflection on the back of the SUV! So, even though I don't have the CSM options, the other changes that I made in the AlphaOBD app did indeed activate my LED turn signals as DRL's! I hadn't realized that it had worked because I had the parking brake on so that I could get out of the truck while it was running and in DRIVE. I did some quick testing at the stoplight and, sure enough, the DRL's go out if the truck is in PARK or if the parking brake is on (as someone had previously mentioned).

So, I am extremely happy with the results and with the AlphaOBD app! Just went back to the Google Play Store and gave it a 5 star rating!

Thanks again for all the assistance from this forum. You guys are great!

I am still at a loss as to why your CSM settings don't show up. It's the first time I have seen it. In any case glad to hear at least your DRL's are working.

Speaking of DRLs, has anyone actually told Alexey that we have an issue with the high beam location setting not working on trucks with factory projectors? It occurred to me today that I had not reported it. If no-one else has, I'll grab a nice fresh debug log on the subject tomorrow and send it over to him along with the info we've gathered here on the issue to see if it's something in AlphaOBD or if it's just the BCM on trucks with them not liking the setting.

I'm guessing that mine might be an early 2013 and, as Alexey says, the Body Control Module computer simply doesn't have those codes. Probably a change that FCA made somewhere in the 2013 model year.

Here is Alexey's reply to me:

"The set of available car configuration options listed by the program depends on the particular model of the body computer installed on the car. When connecting to the body computer the program checks it's model and displays only the options relevant for the detected body model. It looks that the body installed on your car does not support the "CSM" settings.
If you think this is wrong and the body actually has to support the "CSM", I need to know the body modification to check if the program correctly process the data. Please record debug log of the connection to the body:
- turn on the "Debug data recording" in the program settings
- connect to the body and disconnect
- send the recorded debug log to me from the "Tools" screen"

So a couple of hours later...

DRLs are functional, as well as the CSM for them. Just for ***** and giggles, I tried the auto fold and tilt in reverse. I do have the chromed mirrors, but I don't have memory as it is (that I know of) and the settings reflect that- I can select them, but after a couple of seconds they will deselect themselves.

Having the DRLs Is the key thing I was after, though, so all is good until I decide to dump more cash into it.

Side note: The format for the screen layout changed along the way, after changing the theme. Current layout seems different than the previous theme, but that could just be me.

Not sure if you did this or not but in order for your tilt in reverse function to work you will need to activate your driver and passenger mirror memory if you haven't already. You do not have to have actual memory seats in order for the tilt in reverse to function but you do need to have the correct mirrors. If you have the codes enabled even if you don't have the correct mirrors it should stay checked on the screen if you have the mirror memory activated......well except for my truck lol! Mine seems to be the only one so far that won't stay checked on the screen even though I have all the codes activated.

Yeah I remember the early posts about this, and how it was a ****show to get them to work. Today I just clicked on em to see if they would work, since my Harvest edition had the chrome mirrors. Tomorrow, when there is less beer involved, I'll dig a little deeper. But tonight I am just happy that DRLs are selectable, and my dropout foglights are disabled with high beams. If I can get the mirrors to work, added bonus.

I want to thank everybody for the absolutely fantastic and timely support! You guys are terrific!

I just sent an email to [email protected] describing the issue. Will be interesting to see what they say. While it could turn out to be a problem with the ELM327 dongle, it is still odd to me that I can successfully change other settings but not even see any of the CSM settings. I will post here when I hear back from them. I'll spend the additional $80 for the MX OBDLink if I have to, but I want to be as certain as possible that that's the problem before I do so.
what part or Oregon you in? Im in Beaverton if you're close you can try mine to see if it works. Got my DRL working no problem.

Ok, I read through about 15 pages before my head started spinning here....

For my 2018 I would need the OBDLink MX, the security bypass harness and the Alpha OBD through Google play in order to do things with the Ram.

I would like to have DRL's functioning. Would it be possible to make the fog lights stay on all the time when switching between high and low beam with Alpha OBD?

Looks like there are a lot of things you could do with it...

Yes deactivating the fog light dropout is a very popular mod and alpha tool can do it with no problems.

Handy tool...and I'm glad I already had the OBDLink MX since I had used it on my F150 with FORSCAN. That tool allowed for the foglights to stay on with beams on the Fords: they call it "Bambi Mode" (owing to wanting the extra lighting for seeing the dumb critters). I will say that FORSCAN was a bit easier to work with though; the different modules are broken out clearly, not just a full list of all the codes/options in the BCM like with AlfaOBD. But Alfa isn't hard to work with; just have to scroll a lot!

I've enabled DRLs for my Ram (using the high beam location on my Quad lights), turned off the foglight dropout and will be adding the ITBC to the truck once the hardware arrives. Sure beats a trip to the dealer!

Especially when the dealer cannot activate most of the codes anyway.

2013's are weird it seems - Every-time we have a head-scratcher it seems to be a 2013

Have you noticed any "hum" when enabling the high beam DRL location? When sitting still, turn them off and on. If you have do, it will be easily noticeable.
