Grounded pin 11 last night, went on Alfa and enabled remote start present and hood ajar present. Truck beeps and lights flash when you double click remote start button but doesn’t start. Went on Alfa and read bcm status, which said remote start not enabled. What else can I check?

Couple things to check- did you reset the RF Hub? Take the truck for a drive cycle, then try the remote start.

Like Jimmy07 stated. Reset the rf hub, take it for a short drive. Cycle the truck on/off 2-3 time's. Also for the hood adjar ohm setting start with 1k then if nothing try 500/500.
I had the same problem when I installed the remote start. Took it for a short drive to the store, the key was cycled 2 times for that trip, tried it when I got back and it worked

Went for drive, cycle a couple of times, and changed to 1k ohm. Now says remote start cancelled hood open.

If I remember your previous posts correctly, you changed your RFH hub? If you did, are you using the new PIN for the RFH hub you put in when trying to do the reset?

Use any dongle you want AT YOUR OWN RISK.
There is a reason the developer only recommends the Obdlink MX or MX+. Other forum members have had mixed results using other brands some partially positive and some possibly disastrous. If you use your current dongle and have an issue the advice here would be limited at best.

Says you posted this 15 hours ago. Last activity before was 18 and after was 13. Most of those hours being over night. Someone might be able to help during the day but this place isn't a 24/7 help line. Might take a bit for someone to see it or for someone who has a clue to respond.

It’s just too hard to say definitively. I know people have used it successfully for *some* features. I DO know of someone that couldn’t get power fold mirror option to work with it, but at the same time, he was able to get windows global down to work with it. As soon as he got the MX, he got the power folds to work. You’d have to snuff out someone who has specifically tried the brake controller with the BAFX on here, and that’ll be slim chances. Your best bet is to just buy the AlfaOBD app and give it a try. If it doesn’t work, THEN buy the MX. The MX can, without a doubt, work with anything that AlfaOBD has to offer. Others might just work for some features, and not for others.

Yeah it's not that, it's that I put specifically in bold that the whole reason I'm asking is because all I could find is maybe answers and more maybe answers aren't helpful so please don't post a maybe answer and minutes later like magic somebody took time out of their day to type up another maybe answer.

It doesn't matter at this point anyway. I held off installing the brake controller because I also ordered upfitter buttons so I could pop both into the dash at the same time & only have it apart one time for both jobs... well the upfitter buttons ended up being backordered for over a month and now I'm out of time before I need the brake controller actually installed and working. I don't have time to order another OBD dongle and wait for it to arrive and hope it works. That's not the fault of anybody here but it does mean it's useless to be in this thread.

I had the dealer activate my controller. Took them a whole 10 mind and like 20 bucks out of my pocket. I intend to do some additional changes to my truck but I'm going the safe route and got the mx+ and Alfa.

im wondering if anybody can tell me if i have to buy the OBDlink MX or if my current ELM327mini will work with the alfaobd app? i want to install LED headlight bulbs but i cant figur this OBD stuff out very well(im more of a old school kinda guy)

ok i get that we can use any "dongle" we want i was just wondering if any body has had success with the little blue mini befoe i go out and spend $50 on the app and $69US on something i may or may not need r if i should go with the can bus modules and skip messing around.

and i was hoping there might be some other members located in BC Canada that might now who sells them locally...mabye

I guess what I was trying to explain earlier is, it can’t be said FOR SURE if it’ll work for what changes you want to make. Sure, you might have someone chime in and say, “I used that dongle to enable global down and change my tire thresholds with no problems”. Then, you buy it to make a few completely different changes, and it’s not capable. It CAN be said for sure that, of all the documented changes that have been made, somebody can chime in and say “yes, the MX is capable of that change”.
