Tried out the auto high beams on the way to the gym this morning, they worked better than I expected. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

They work much better than my GC ever did. Haven’t blinded anyone yet.

Y'all, this is a beautiful thing.
I've been rocking halogen high beams at reduced power as my DRLs in my Projector housings for over two years. Hated it. Only two dealers in my state, both "couldn't" change my DRLs to the LEDs. I was moments away from paying OBDGenie for their module.
My Mx OBDLink came in today, and within 15 minutes my years of suffrage is over.
Thank you all for your contributions and testing!

Were the projectors on the truck from factory or had you upgraded? I have factory projectors and I can't get the High Beam DRL setting to work. Low beam, Turn and fog work. The High Beam setting appears to take, but they don't come on. I'm trying to find someone else with factory projectors and AlphaOBD to test theirs and look for other settings that might be needed.

Quick report on the light test functions after the latest update:

The following test functions now all work on my truck ('14 Express CC with factory Projectors, Fogs & LED tails and added Tow mirrors with Turn and Puddle lights, all activated & working.):

Left Front turn Lamp
Right Front Turn Lamp

Front Fog Light Left
Front Fog Light Right

Rear Left Stop/Turn Light
Rear Right Stop/Turn Light

Low Beam Left
Low Beam Right

High Beam Left
High Beam Right

Left Front Park Light
Right Front Park Light

Rear Left Parking Lights Command
Rear Right Parking Lights Command

Left Reverse Lamp
Right Reverse Lamp

License Plate Lights

Center Mounted High Stop Lamp

Courtesy Lamps - Note: This lit the interior footwell lights, but did not light the puddle lights on the mirrors.

Truck Cargo Lamps

The following test functions do NOT work on my truck:
Note: These are only the ones that I thought should work, based on what my truck has. There were lots of others for features either my truck or any RAM trucks do not have.

Left Side Repeater in Mirror - Failed - Condition Not Correct or Request Sequence Error
Right Side Repeater in Mirror - Failed - Condition Not Correct or Request Sequence Error
* I thought these should be the turn signals in the mirrors, but they may be for an in-the-glass type light on another vehicle

Edit: The test functions for the mirror mounted turn signals and puddle lights are in the door modules, not the Body Control module. You have to go into each door module separately to run the tests on that side's mirror.

Mirror Turn Signal Lamp State
Door Courtesy Lamp State

Rear Left Turn Light - Failed - Condition Not Correct or Request Sequence Error
Rear Right Turn Light - Failed - Condition Not Correct or Request Sequence Error
Given that there is a separate rear turn/stop option that does work, I think these may be for vehicles without factory LED taillights. Need someone with the non-LED ones to test.

Still looking for:

I'm still looking for a way to test the mirror mounted turn signals and puddle lights. I need to connect to the door modules and see if there's any test functions available there.

None of the parking light functions activated the cab lights circuit (F79) which I use for my air dam and side lights.

None of the functions which I thought should have turned on the interior map and dome lights did so. More testing needed.

I also tried the High Beams as DRL setting again with the new version, just to see if it not working had been an issue with the app, but it still does not work.

Where did you purchase the updated mirror?

I got it off of ebay(68096094AF), then ordered the wire from my local dealer. Mine has the stuff for UConnect(mics, 911, assist buttons), but I don't need that. I'd trade it for someone that has the one without UConnect on it if anyone is interested. Just plugs in on both ends and then you update the programming.

Unfortunately no, my truck came with Quads and I converted.
Once I swapped, I changed my LOWS to HIDs and fogs to projector LEDs. The halogen HIGHs looked awful in comparison, so I tried swapping them out for an LED. The DRL would not come on when I had those LEDs in the HIGH beam. I didn't think much of it because I had bought super cheap bulbs for testing purposes. Do you still have halogens in your HIGH beams?

What option for DRL did you select? Any pics?
I used the same settings as found in post #1 and also on the google drive link. Worked like a charm.
I'll grab some pics tonight. Still not getting very dark here till after 8:30, so will be a bit later. I think it looks pretty neat with my mirrors also having DRLs.

Yup, both the Highs and Lows are Phillips Crystalvision Ultra halogens. From what I've found the way the trucks run the LB or HB DRLs is to feed a reduced voltage to them, I believe it's around 7 volts. The voltage settings are actually in the AlphaOBD app as (theoretically) changeable settings. I suspect that the lower voltage wasn't enough to run the LEDs you tried.

I think these are the voltage settings:

CBC Exterior Lighting Calibrations:
Auto Headlamp ON Threshold: 3.31 V
Auto Headlamp OFF Threshold: 2.55 V
Left Side DRL Voltage Target: 7.4 V
Right Side DRL Voltage Target: 7.4 V

Left Low Beam Voltage Regulation: 13 V
Left High Beam Voltage Regulation: 13 V
Right Low Beam Voltage Regulation: 13 V
Right High Beam Voltage Regulation: 13 V
Left Front Corner Voltage: 13 V
Right Front Corner Voltage: 13 V
Left Rear Corner Voltage: 13 V
Right Rear Corner Voltage: 13 V

I like the auto high beams on my Hellcat, but not enough to pay $650 to get it on my PW. Did just add the CargoCAM for $225 + wiring, and it works great.

Has anyone had to add resistors to led turn signals front and rear? I've updated in Alpha Obd but still getting hyper flash after sleeping for an hour.

Mike...I have a '17 2500, so my mics are in the headliner and not in the mirror. '17 and up Rams have the mics in the headliner. Your '18 should also have the mics in the headliner as well (not in the mirror which is '16 and earlier). Your signature says you have a PW, does your current mirror already have " Auto dim/Assist/911/ UConnect"? If so then the correct part number for upgrading the stock auto dim mirror in your PW to Smart Beam (automatic high beams) in a '17 or newer Ram (no mics in mirror) is 68295862AA (listed as a "CONNECTED" mirror, meaning Assist/911/UConnect). Takes all of 10 minutes to install. No added wiring needed. You will also need a new cover (1YW14DX9AC Lower Cover). This mirror and cover are half the price of the other mirror.

To activate I used the 5 settings for SB listed in post #1 shown under "Auto High Beams". Hope this helps.......

I saw someone has the mirror like mine posted for sale in the classified section for $225...

I have an extra mirror dim-able with dual mics I would trade you

Are you saying that the above voltages can be changed?

That's a risky proposition to tinker with the set voltages without knowing the specs on the voltage regulators built into the PDC. Hopefully the BCM settings are accounting for the correct ranges. Not sure how much a new PDC costs.

Alfaodb works fine on the 'tesla' head units. I wouldn't do any programming though.....

Obdlink works very well as a dash....

Bought the app today and used it to set all my DRL settings. I disconnected everything, saved my logs before disconnecting, and started the truck. No DRLs on. Sad, but I think I know why.. my truck had quad headlights that I swapped in OEM projectors, with the retroshop harness. The harness has a blue DRL wire that I didnt connect.. but I dont know where it connects to

I also used their adapter harness to go from quads to projectors, but don't recall having any extra wires.
You can post your log for us to confirm you have the correct settings if you'd like.
Also just to make sure (and I'm sure you already know), the DRLs only activate when the truck is out of park.

Has anyone played with the fuel tank low fuel light and empty settings to try to get our fuel gauges to read correct for a 31 gallon tank?

My truck is a 14 and also came with quad headlights. I upgraded to the factory OEM projectors with the Retro shops harness and my DRL's also work.
