Thank you sir! I desable this option asap!!
Just enabling the performance pages and "vehicle is an SRT" will not harm your truck. The performance pages just won't do anything and the other will change your 8.4 splash screen to say SRT.

Edit: I do find it interesting it is displaying on your radio.

I saw the re-initializing the ABS also but did not go thru the procedure. Did you do the procedure? How did you do the drive test? Thanks.

I did the procedure. All I had to do per the instructions is select an option to re-initialize the ABS module (I forget the exact wording, but the instructions have it), and in a couple of seconds I got the message the procedure was completed. I then did the key off and door open/close and restart. The errors were gone. I have a GPS app on my phone that I used to verify the change.

I think it's funny the difference between the two is less than $18. Which would make sense, the pad is $40 and the bracket is probably somewhere near the same. So they're more than quadrupling their profits. Lol

Yes, but what if we never tried. :)

Actually whats even funnier is that the LRMS windshield was *cheaper* than the standard one, on the site I found the parts :)

Could you do a complete write up on the process start to finish? I've got 34.5" tires on my 2014 and i don't remember if my Autel tool showed me a size that was comparable. I'm gonna snag the alfa tool when I get back from deployment and check it out.

I found an article on automatic rain sensing wipers. I pasted the link to it below. It gives pretty good info on the 2 types of rain sensors used by car manufacturers. If you read the article you will see that the Ram uses the SECOND type of rain sensor the article describes ( see the paragraph that starts with "The next sensor mounting is the pad-mounted type") . More importantly it goes over the gel pad used to mount the sensor to the windshield and the necessary care needed when applying to the windshield. Also note that the article makes no mention of any differences on (or in) the windshield glass itself.

I have been emailing the Alfa developer. He has requested some debugging files from me as I can not do the ABS initialization procedure as the "start" button is grayed out and will not work.

Good info!

While I really like the idea of the feature, Googling around there are a lot of complaints (FCA products, especially) about phantom swipes, etc. I think the system itself is fine, but if you dont keep the windshield as clean as you can, it can turn into issues. And my truck is big enough its already a PITA to get the *whole* windshield clean, with my luck the one spot I cant easily reach is right where the sensor is :)

Thanks @mjf6175 for the info in the link.

@chrisbh17 This sounds like the same that was on my GC, which would make sense. I found myself turning the wipers to intermittent (first setting) to enable them only when it was raining. The when there was no rain I would turn them back off. The reason being, I believe the pad itself had started to deteriorate causing ghost swipes either at startup or randomly when driving. It still worked pretty good for changing speed of the wipers when it was raining.

I also found out later that you should never use RainX or anything similar. I assume because of the beading?

Still haven't heard back about the bracket, so this may be a mute point since this style uses the bracket to retain a certain tension or pressure on the sensor itself.

This is what I like so much about the developer of this tool. He is more than happy to help and seems to genuinely want to take care of any issues we find. You can't say that for most developers.

I haven’t been able to source the windshield bracket yet. I did reach out to a couple windshield companies to see if they have them.

I just talked to my buddy, he said that he would only be able to get that bracket with the windshield, it is not available separately, at least through his distributors.

You can buy a 7 pin trailer plug and use a resistor to simulate a trailer being hooked up to keep the exhaust brake on.

Thanks, I have tried that in the past and could not get it to work. I will just suffer with pushing the button until I get it tuned.

I also heard back from the two glass companies I contacted a few moments ago. They can only source the pad but not the bracket.

And just like that, dead in the water. Lol

That is the one I am using for Android. It will also work for Windows with Bluetooth.

I am going to use Android. Specifically a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. I got it just for this.

Unfortunately this morning when I went to purchase the app through Google play, I found out you can't connect a paypal to google play. So I purchased a Google Play Gift Card and now I am waiting for the email with the gift code. They said it could talk up to 3-24 hours. It's been 6 hours so far...

Just remember it if you ever need a windshield replacement. They cant source the BRACKET but they should be able to source the windshield WITH the bracket.....now, getting them to actually do so is a different story.

Does anyone here already have a Ram with the rain sensor? And can take a picture of the mounting bracket? Found a company that sells/makes(?) mounting brackets. Just called but the tech guy who would know which bracket will not be back till next week. Got to link and see the brackets:

On that page pasted above the closest I could find is:
