I'm assuming you're a check that the wires not damaged and you check the bulb still work
Kinda, sorta, halfhearted attempt

I looked em up on alfa and told the BCM to test them, which gave a "option not available" message, or something like that

I noticed today the turn signals on my '17 2500 SLT aren't working

I tried to "test" them with Alfa, but got an error message

Tried to turn them on (set side view mirror turn signals to present , and side view mirror repeaters to present) but no luck

These were both set to "no" before

Am I overlooking something?

I'm assuming you're a check that the wires not damaged and you check the bulb still work

Lil update, turns out whoever assembled the truck had never told the BCM that it was equiped with tow mirrors

Once I set that, the indicators work

Still no puddle lights though (and yes, I set approach light present to "yes")

Hey all, Did a lot of searches and over the ~15K posts I didn't find an answer.

I haven't purchased AlphaObd yet, but am planning on it along with the vLinker MC+;

Couple of questions.

1. I currently have an EzLynk 3.0 cable installed, it works as it should. I assume it should work for the Vlinker/AlphaObd ????

2. Main reason for purchase. 2020 2500 Laramie, After bigger tires and Lift I ran into errors "FCW/ACC/LaneSense Unavailable, service required" After much research I think I know the issue and want to know if Aplha can do what I need, This is a "fix" that has been posted and I've read similar issues:
SNIP
"Dealer was able to reprogram computer by swapping a pair of stock tires from the lot and reprogamming the ride height to 1099mm. The threshold held by RAM in currently 1100mm. They are unsure what triggered the truck to suddenly calibrate a ride height o 1168mm after 6months of being on the road with the same new lift kit (RC 6") and were perplexed as to how to fix it using traditional methods."

Does your EzLynk include EZ LYNK OBDII Diagnostic Cable with 18+ RAM SGM Adapter?

I've heard of people successfully using a Vlinker OBD2 adapter with AlfaOBD, but have not tested it myself. You require a security gateway module (SGM) bypass cable for 2018+ vehicles.

I change my wheel sizes with AlfaOBD twice per year as I have summer & winter wheels.

I detest the android OS and refuse to connect it to anything important, such as my truck.
I use AlfaOBD for windoze and use a laptop with a modified OS and a USB interface to connect to the OBD2 connector.

Yes the cable has the SGM adaptor.

The ride height modification is different than the tire size settings which I've done with the EzLynk. Where it is and how to change "Ride Height" is the big question for me.

With AlfaOBD, first connect to the Air Suspension Control Module (ASCM).

Then select options under the Active Diagnostic tab. The android version looks a bit different.

Well I found out that the ezlynk cable won't work. The ezlink dongle is 24 pins so the cable is built for it. Buying a Kaodtech. Kinda sux that I'll have to have to swap cables back and forth.

I use a KaodTech harness and leave it installed. I keep it connected to the CAN bus connections and keep it coiled, stuffed behind the dash.

When I need it, yank it out and connect it to the OBD2 port and the OBDLink interface.

I don't see why you couldn't do the same, just install the appropriate harness into the OBD2 port as required.

You have a tuner connected at the same time?

No, I have no tuner.

AFAIK, the KaodTech harness is simply another CAN bus interface when it's connected to the CAN bus blocks and OBD2 port with a Bluetooth or USB dongle connected.

While not in use, the only connections are at the CAN bus blocks: nothing else.

I would have thought that if only the CAN bus connections are placed, it should have zero impact on anything else.

I keep the OBD2 port clear because my truck is still under warranty, and I visit the dealership twice per year.

The same as I do, as much trouble as it was to connect on my 2019 I'm not about to try and finagle my hand into there again if not neccesary.

I use the Vlinker MC+ and have had zero issues, but my truck doesn't require a bypass cable so not sure about that.

You must have XL-sized hands, or maybe the path to the CAN bus blocks is more cluttered with wiring in your truck than mine.

The installation of my KaodTech harness likely took about 3 minutes, but only because I was obsessing on the perfect cable routing. My hands are size large.

Actually I do have very large hands it's always been a trail to find gloves.
Also I ended up using a CAN bus that I could access after popping the dash side panel and the headlight switch panels out.

Much easier to see and access from the top

Good morning all. I just received my OBDLink MX+ yesterday and downloaded AlfaOBD. I tried to make a back up of my factory settings and for some reason the back up was completely blank (0 kb). Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I followed the steps in the link from the first post, but no success. I need to swap my ABS Control Module and do not want to start before making a back up. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you using AlfaOBD for Android or windoze?

Have you correctly selected your vehicle Brand, model and BCM module and successfully connected to the vehicle?

You may have missed a prompt to allow Alfa storage access. You can go to the app on app settings and clear the cache clear storage which should restore the prompts OR go to the permissions section and check that it has storage permissions (not sure if that's a selection on Samsung)

Once connected to the vehicle, did you tap on the battery icon at the bottom of the screen of AlfaOBD? This will give you the option to "read" the vehicle log for saving or viewing.
This is something you do before making or checking any vehicle configuration settings.

I will check this after work today. I didn't get a chance to do anything to my truck yesterday as "life" got in my way. I did have a good bourbon at the end of it all, so it wasn't a total waste of an evening. I really need to get to know AlfaOBD. I feel like there is quite a lot to take in when using the app.
