Sorry if this has been discussed before, I tried a forum search to no avail.

I have a 2018 Ram 3500 Dually, my right front tire wore prematurely on the outside edge.
I swapped them side to side, I would like to fix the problem before I install new tires.

I was talking to a friend who said a fix is in the works and it would be a warranty issue.

He said that Ram has designed a new (I believe) offset ball joint to correct a camber issue

Just wondering if there might be any truth to this

Thanks in Advance

Hi Tach_Tech

I haven’t had the alignment checked, I’ve owned the truck since new. It has never been curbed or hit anything too knock the alignment out, I will have it checked too be sure.

Thanks

I have a 2018 2500 Laramie with air ride. My front passenger side also wore prematurely on the outside. First alignment shop (after alignment in June) said it was “because I pulled a 5er” I call bs....swapped tires around and drove it for the summer. Slight wear again. September take it into a different shop for an oil and fuel filter change, tire swap (tires are about done anyway) and a once over of components. NO PROBLEM WITH THE RIDE. 1 caliper seized (back), ps front ball joints need replaced so did both sides. This could go on and on but basically back 2 different times since as my wife will not drive it anymore and I hate it. Now he says it could be the steering box? I am no mechanic but would the steering box not be very noticeable if bad? Even my car pool partner says it rides/drives different ....... all started with ps front tire premature wear. Any ideas??? Thanks

You didn't post miles or stock tires or not but go to a different shop with an alignment rack to check it. Sounds like the other shop is just throwing parts at it.

87k and stock Firestone tires, I have winter tires and rims also that I use. I have taken it to another shop and getting it looked at. Just depressing since it was riding so nice, and now, no so...oh and the $2500 touch, 5 days in the shop for fix and troubleshooting......
