Another dash cluster issue

Hey all, I just bought my first cummins. 1998.5 24v nv4500 4x4, bought it and had some grounds turn to powder preventing the truck from running, fixed that and the truck is back to life pretty happy! The newest issue though is now the dash isn't working, only the tach and backlighting. the odometer is flashing miles and not counting also the alternator isn't charging. im going to replace all the jcase fuses including the 140a alternator but before I potentially waste money what do yall think? I saw somewhere that someone with the same issue replace the cps and the issue went away but I find it strange that it would cause this issue! and yes I did perform the self test, no gauges moved.
