Another HID thread

Hey guys, read a whole lot of different things on this forum. Lots of good info as well but still had a couple of questions that I would like to ask you pros out there:

I an about to install a set of HIDs in my low beams and fogs. My choice of colors are 6k for the lows and 3k for the fogs (gotta go with the lamin-x yellow tint).

Now I know that I need to get a relay harness for both kits (unless I get some kits that don't need them but that's not the point). I previously purchased a set of VVME off ebay for my Journey and had to also use a relay harness. Now the question, are all relay harnesses of same quality? When I installed them in my Journey, at first they were working fine and then started to have issues with my relay. It would'nt do the click to light up the ballasts and ended up getting tired of it and decided to install them in my Matrix. In the end, I wanted to know which relay harness you guys used to put in your trucks. Are "stock" relays compatible with trucks? (Lenght, width, etc) Same question but for fogs? Where did you connect the power wire (fuse box, battery terminal).

not all relays are made the same.

Stock? no relays there......all computer controlled fun.

We have kits that will work with your Ram:

Heads - 2013+ Dodge Ram HIDs
Fogs - 2009+ Dodge Ram HIDs - for Fog lights

there are a lot of kits that the harnesses are short. not ours. pretty long! I'd get power from the 12v jumper on the fuse box. Great place there

Hey so with these kits you offer Jeremy for the 2013 projector headlights it's just a HID low/Halogen high correct?

you can do 2 kits if you want the highs too. Since there are 2 sets of bulbs in each light.....each of my kits covers one set.

HIR2/9006 for the low beam
9005 for the highs

I have the morimoto relays in my 13 sport and they are very high quality and seem like they will last

Thanks for your reply.

What I meant by stock relay is without modifying the purchased relay (too short etc).

Good to know that you guys have kits. I was looking for reliable ones that will not die on me after 2 weeks.

I had purchased a relay harness for my fogs from a different supplier, which was way to short.
The one Jeremy set me up with was perfect length in order to hide/route the wires appropriately. Considering re-doing my low-beam harness, as it came from the other supplier and is of noticeably lower quality than Retro's.
