I am getting a premium cluster with a few more miles on it then my truck has. I can wait to match the mileage no problem. The question is about idle and running hours. I think somewhere I read through the hundreds of posts about this upgrade, that the cluster picks up the hours from the PCM. Is this just wishful thinking or is it true? And does it matter if/when I have a warranty issue? I guess I can send it out when to be done properly if it's important.
Any ideas on this?
It would be nice if I could just pull over at the right mileage, swap it out and be done.

I spoke to Dominic at TvandNav2go. He said the hours don't really have to match but they have to make sense. Apparently if you truck goes in for service and there are LESS hours, that could raise some red flags.
Also the transmission and engine both count miles, so it's important for your new cluster to be within 100 miles of the old cluster.
I dont know what the penalty is though. Maybe the trans has to relearn your driving style. Dunno.
I can surely make the miles thing happen myself, but the hours thing I cant do.
Sounds like he is doing a lot of these because his name getting tossed around here. Seems like a good guy.

I just swapped mine out, I sent it to NavRepair. It was $99+ shipping(based on how fast you want it back) to program the mileage and the hours/min.

Dominic's shop is only about 50 miles from me. Should be quick shipping but with USPS you just never know.

50 miles, I’d just drive there. See if he can do it while you wait. According to the guy at Navrepair, it only takes a couple minutes to change the mileage. Only takes about 1 minute for you to swap them out. Take off the trim piece before you leave and swap them right in the parking lot.

Need time during the work week to do that. Don't have it.
Just found out his pricing and he has priced himself out of my budget. I do know Brooklyn money is much different then other money.

What did they quote you? Navrepair did it for $99+shipping, I thought that was reasonable. But I won’t have paid much more.

Frankly it wasnt all that much more and for the handling and paperwork and so forth it's not unreasonable. I just may not need it.

I’m not sure if you have any warranty left, but if you do, this is the one reason I would just pay to have the hours and odometer match as close as possible: if you go in for a warranty repair/issue, and the dealer sees the mismatch between the PCM and the cluster, that is the only reason they need to deny your claim, and void your entire warranty. All they have to do is tell FCA you tampered with the odometer if they wanted to.
