I was about to order the MOPAR
power running boards, but I wasn’t happy about the complex wiring or the fact I would have to get the BCM flashed at the dealer get the boards to work.
I had previously been looking at the AMP research aftermarket boards, but didn’t like how they used the OBD-II port. Then I stumbled upon a few positive reviews for the RBP (Rolling Big Power) running boards. I haven’t received them yet, but here’s what I like:
-TWO waterproof motors on each side
-LED lights at the mid point of each door
- they use magnet door switches to know when the doors are open. The only wires that hook to the vehicle are the fused positive and negative. Everything else is self contained and requires no complex wiring into the truck’s electrical system. It also leaves your OBDII port free.
On paper (and in reviews) they look nice. I’m excited to try them installed.
