Anyone try Modifystreet headlights?

Your tuner is enabling the DRLs in the wrong location for these headlights (high beams at half power). So, you’ll disable the DRLs from your tuner, use the AlfaOBD to enable the DEDICATED DRL circuit, and follow the wiring method @1500ram12 posted a little bit back. You won’t need to use the supplied DRL harness. I’ll see if I can find the post number on this thread...

Here is my write up

For the drl's. I used the drl harness it came with, I happened to have the same connectors they used to connect the harness to the drl module so I made a section to go from that harness to the front end module. My truck was wired from the front end module to the bcm already so I didn't have to make those connections.

After everything is wired and you already have drl's enabled (if not go to page 1 in alphaobd look for my name and click the Google drive link) go to body Computer 2013-17 > car configuration > CBC I/O Left/Right Dedicated DRL Lamp/Headlamp Leveling output >Select YES for both> CBC Features - DRL Lamp Location > Select Dedicated and you are all set.

Dedicated is what trucks that came with factory projectors use. Which is the parking lights at reduced voltage (I believe, which just now raises a question that @Jimmy07 hopefully can answer. Does the dedicated drl feed run at reduced voltage and if so can you increase it?) basically the dedicated drl will allow you to add whatever you want as a drl.

It’s been confirmed by 67guzzler that when the DRLs are set to dedicated on the factory projectors, they are running at reduced power. He tested by hitting the turn signal switch while the DRLs were on, and at that exact moment the turn signal lit up brighter when it started to flash. Then he tried the same with the DRLs set to “turn signal”, and the brightness stayed the same when he hit the turn signal switch.
I haven’t seen a setting to be able to increase the voltage on the dedicated DRL circuit.

Since we have 2500s, our DRL wire locations are different than his 1500. He will use pin 8 and pin 23, whereas we use pin 5 and pin 29. The bad thing about that is, pin 8 happens to be the bigger female terminal.
@rotwiler, here is a good picture of the front end connector under the fuse box that 1500ram12 is referencing. It is the back of the connector half that has the big disconnect lever on it-
The red arrow is where you would insert the terminal for the driver side DRL. The yellow arrow is where you would insert the passenger side DRL wire. Since these terminals are hard to find without having to buy a bunch at one time, I would suggest you get a hold of @Mpgrimm2 and he can hook you up with two 8” lengths of wire with those terminals and wire seals on the end. You also need to confirm first that the mating half of that connector (the one with the male pins) already has the wires going into it at those two locations that would plug into the terminals you are adding.

The only thing I could find is CBC EXTERN.LIGHT-LEFT/RIGHT SIDE DRL VOLTAGE TARGET that gives you the options of 5.0->8.0 adjustable by tenths.

Who would be the source for the correct pins for the 2500's. ? That's what I have and will be doing a a head light upgrade when V2 comes out...

It's not adjusted through fender hole, open hood and you will see holes with arrows, one of them is for headlight, stick Phillips screwdriver in hole that has adjuster and turn slow, eventually you will see movement. Here is a diagram showing where hole is to adjust

I’m currently at 7.4. I don’t think it’ll hurt anything if I just go up to 8.

Checked mine. They were set at 7.4v like yours. When I connected to my truck it gave me the option of going up to 11.4v. So I set them at 11.4v. Haven't visually checked them to see if they are any brighter yet.

With the app that comes with obdlink you can view guages, clear codes. For the most part it's just like a scan tool. Alphaobd alone pays for itself and the obdlink really after making one change to your truck. It allows you to change things dealers can't and thing's they can without paying ~$100 /hr shop fee for the dealer to spend 15 minutes on the computer to add or change something.

The OBDLink software can monitor performance of the truck, data log etc. And if you have F150 owning friends, the OBDLink will work with FORSCAN in the same way it works with AlfaOBD, so you can help them out.
