Ecoboosts have small turbos, they spool very quickly and are great off the line but they top out quickly. The engine can flow more air but the turbo is peaked for its volume. A bigger turbo swap and they'll be a little slower off the line but really move up on the top end. I've had a few try my truck out on the highway and it's a laughable attempt even on my 22s, and I won't race anybody when I have my winters on so they're safe for 6 more months.

How many hemis full size 4 doors full weight running mid to low 13s with tunes and few bolt ons?

I love my hemi truck but it's not on the same power level of a tuned ecoboost.

tremors are geared too high. They running 4.10s when it should be 3.55 or 3.15s.

That would be too low. Higher number is lower gearing.

How many hemis full size 4 doors full weight running mid to low 13s with tunes and few bolt ons?

I love my hemi truck but it's not on the same power level of a tuned ecoboost.

I looked at the 1/4 mile thread. The only trucks breaking into the 13 are single cabs hemis.
That's high 13s mostly.

The 5k in updates to make that eco boost really pur would do the same wonders for a hemi, Yes intake them and exhaust them and program them "5K" and they run ******* sweet, That being said.. what could 5k do for a hemi? it would do close to the same, and i would bet the motor would handle the horse power better and last longer. I believe for 5k you can get a single turbo for the 5.7. After those 5k in updates.. your sitting on like 450 hp/550 tq .. i dont know how well that direct injected v6 is gonna like that. My personal preference.. hemi. How ever.. if ford ever ecoboost their 5.0 .. now that will be something.. Gratz on spanking the ford.

Yeah I looked but where do you see crew or quad cabs in the 13s? I see moe talking about a 2014 regular cab in 12s.

If you have a ecoboost a 400 tuner and 80 buck custom tune will get you in mid 13s all day.

I have a buddy with mpt tune, downpipes, cai, and charge pipe ran 13.25 in 90 degree Louisiana heat . We going to the track December 7th state capital Raceway baton rouge. Shooting for high 12s in this Cooler weather. I weigh 100 pounds lighter than him, so I'll be behind the wheel. No way any full size hemi running close to that. But if any hemis around Baton rouge wanna prove me wrong, come on down.

Where do you get 5k from?

Tuner 400 bucks
Custom tune 80 to 100
downpipes -350

That's less than 1k to reach 13s.

Cai and charge pipes are a waste. I know because I put all that to the test.

Better yet, you can take the Trinity off your '13 Ram 2500 Hemi and put it on your '14 EcoBoost F-150 and realize that... well... Shoot dang.

Canned Diablo tune is 90 HP 90 Tq.

Will the truck last 200k? Hell if I know, I don't keep em that long, don't care.
I can tell ya this, rear locked (nice factory E-locker) and in 4 Hi, I can launch at about 2700 RPM, with barely a chirp, and this crew cab 6'5 bed 4x4 is FLYING.

I love my RCSB Hemi, but wowza...

That being said, I've NOT driving a Hemi 8 Sp (and DO wanna!)
It also seems like the Hemi 8Sp is getting better MPGs than the EcoBoosts.

I'd offer a 8k trailer, and a mountain pass and I'll take my fancy VVTILMNOPDGI Twin Turbo V6 over a Hemi every time. Because Boost. Mmmm Boost.

Not trying to start a war just saying with not much money those ecoboost are fast. At the same token I dont trust the reliability of them.

The sound of a Honda civic doesn't compare to the roaring v8 Hemi!!

That's what they claiming. I seen dyno sheets of 75 hp 100tq with custom tunes only.

On the turbo'd EcoBoost, which is what we're talking about, this isn't far from typical results. You can really thin out the factory AFR and pick up quite a bit of power. You end up running the turbos a little hotter as a result and if you can control the AFR you can 'generally' reduce the carbon build up.
