Alright, since I am taking this week off from work, I decided it was about time to change the spacers out on my speakers and see if that would stop them from rubbing on the door panel. Unfortunately, they still rub...but not near as bad however and the door panel was a lot easier to slip on this time around versus when I had the 1/2 spacers on them.
First I went to wal mart and bought my first dremel! yay....then I went to home depot and bought a new set of 1/2" spacers since I can't find 1/3" spacers anywhere. Then when I got home I measured, marked, and cut all 8 spacers down to approx 1/3" and then I swapped them out. I didn't take as many pictures as I intended to because once I got working on the doors I got into it. I was pretty bored today so once I started my brain is gone.
I did do a check also after I was finished reinstalling the speakers to make sure the window clears when lowering them and they do so all good. Still some minor rubbing on the speaker grill but not as bad and I'm no longer worried about it really so yea...this is how I spent part of my day...
Now here's some pictures
These are the spacers I used, they fit the screws that kicker supplies perfectly.
This is after the 1/3" spacers are installed, I meant to take a picture with the 1/2" spacers installed to show the difference but I didn't remember until I was well into putting everything back together
Now also as a treat, here is a picture what the plastic that I need to remove to make the kicker ks693's fit in the front doors. My friend actually cut this side, I did the passenger side with a pair of dikes and it looks a little cleaner, lol.
