02 Ram 1500, 4x4 needs a trans. Have a wrecked 99 Durango. Both V8 engines. Will it swap??

Don't see why not as long as both vehicles used the Magnum engine. Apparently, the 4.7 V8 Durangos used a different transmission, the 45rfe, or some such thing that I very highly doubt the Ram's computer will play nicely with.

5.2 and 5.9. Just need the pickup to run for ranch work.

The only issue that I'm aware of in regards to swapping 46r transmissions is the earlier ones are controlled via intake manifold vacuum while later ones are controlled via the computer. I'm thinking one can work in place of the other but not the other way around, but I can't remember which way or even if this is true or not.

However, being as your Ram and Durango are '02 and '99 respectively, both should have the electronic-controlled transmission and this shouldn't be a problem.
