Just thought id throw this up quick. I put a set of those Grote worklights, usually found on rollbacks and farm tractors, mounted to the sides of my receiver hitch and wired to a switch in the cab. Not too sure if I like the location of them but i did want them kind of hidden from view, but they sure are nice at night with tinted windows lol

Theyre not bad, def better than havin just the factory reverse lights lol ill try to get a pic for you. They dont really spread the light out as much as id like them too, but the set of fog lights on the front of my truck are really bright, id recommend gettin those. I got em at Advance, they are rectangle lights with a chrome finish and i think i paid like $20 or 25 for them.

I also ran some $20 special rectangular fog lights on my '01.
They worked AWESOME, I could actually see when backing up.

Guess I should do another set on this truck too.

Looks good, i like how you did 'em better than how most people do, they look like they are actually protected a bit since they are sucked in there a little bit on not just bolted to the bottom of the bumper (where i would be to worried about snapping them off offroading)

Yeah I had a set of cheap rectangular ones in a black plastic case mounted to the bottom of my bumper but I was worried about breakin em too. But when i got the truck inspected here in PA, the shop took em off my truck bc they said the cops will stop you for it bc people use them to blind tailgaters. Even though mine were wired into the tail light so the truck HAD to be in reverse for them to come on lol but i wired this set to a seperate switch and i wont be going to that same shop for an inspection next year lol

The rectangluar ones werent very bright though either, i didnt like em. The round ones in the other pic i put on when i first bought the truck...got those from Wally World and they were pretty nice too...until i got rear ended leavin school :/

I am so glad we don't have inspections over here, they just seem like a massive headache, especially to people like us that like to modify our trucks. and in some ways play hop scotch with the legal limits. lol

Hell yeah ! lol for me, its usually where inspection comes around and I have to look over my truck quikc and make sure theres nothin illegal on it before i take to the shop.. And now all of a sudden all the shops have been reallyyy picky on inspections. They wouldnt pass my truck for the tires stickin out past the fenders, and made me put the flares on it. But those flares came right back off after the inspection bc I didnt want the panels under them to rust like last time. Ill never buy a set of fender flares ever again for that reason..

Till PA state police come after you lol
I'm lucky enough to live not far from a barrack and have been warned enough times that flares stay on now

Do you still have those fender flares?
Yeah I still got em lol well....3 out of the 4. The front ones were missin the clips to mount em to the fender, so i zip tied the front ones to the plastic inner fender just for inspection but never got around to takin em back off as soon as i had hoped. Soooo, the driver side one blew off on the highway, i didnt even see it go either :/ But i do have the other three still !

Ive been takin it easy with my truck lately. But then again, theres always those cops that are ****** and have nothing else better to do..theyre the ones ya gotta watch out for lol

I had a set of lights on my old 2nd Gen. Some $25 rectangular lights from Advanced. They were awesome. Threw out some serious light. I had them wired up so they would only come on when the truck was in reverse because I thought that would remove me from having any issues with police. I was wrong.

Had my truck in park at the drive-thru at Taco Bell. Line just wasn't moving. When it started rolling, I accidentally put in reverse for a moment. There was a cop in line behind me. :doh2:

I got a good reaming for it, which also came with a ticket for whatever reason. I had to remove them, then take it to the station so the cop who wrote the ticket could visually verify they were gone. Then I put them back on :headbang:

I miss my 2nd Gen sometimes.
