Bad engine tick

I have a 2011 ram 5.7 and the other day truck ran hot on me and died. Had it towed to the house. Needed a water pump so I did that. Cranked it up and and it was ticking so now I’m confused on if it could be a lifter or is it time for a long block? Truck has 130k miles on it. Thanks in advance for the input!

99% of the time hemi tick is either lifters or exhaust bolts. Read the threads in my sig, some lubrication can kill hemi tick, but less effective with older trucks.

It never had tick before? Kinda weird it would show up right after water pump, just maybe you have one of the 1% other. One thing you can do is drop a bottle of lubegard biotech, just maybe that will ease some tick. If it changes tick at all, we will know more.

Does the truck run smooth still? you could of warped a exhaust manifold and popped the bolts if it was overheated? Best would be to record it and upload vid of it.

I have the same tick and I'm still under powertrain warranty. But nervous it's something considered outside of warranty.

Need more info. What kind of tick is it, was there any noticeable tick prior? Checked exhaust bolts? CEL, running rough?
