Bad idea??

I have a set of 315-70-17 tires I have gotten for free. Thinking about using thembut I have to buy wheels. With the 3.92 rear gear is that tire to tall?

It'll be doggy, but not too bad. Just have to remember the gas mileage will go down and you'll increase the wear on front end parts.

Did Dodge Ram's in your year have 4 speeds? I run that same size tire on a 4 speed with 3.73 rear axle. At certain speeds I have a hard time keeping the transmission in lockup. Pretty much drive around town in 3rd.

I think its a 3 speed. It's a slush box with the stock 20" rims.

Should be a 4 or 5 spd.

The only auto trans availble in 04 was a 5 speed 545 RFE
in reality its a 4 speed with a passing gear. Hello second prime!
