I've been going back and forth between HBS leveling kit, and Bilstein leveling shocks. I am leaning more towards the Bilsteins, but not 100% sure. What is the part # for the correct adjustable Bilsteins? Also are most people doing all 4 corners with Bilsteins, just up front, and does it matter? When doing the HBS, it's just the front, correct? When I search, I can't ever seem to find something that fits my 2012 1500 4x4 QUAD cab, except the HBS.

Thanks.

I did hbs. Read reviews for weeks beforehand.. saw lots of vibration issues with bilsteins mainly set above 2.1... And any levels can have some issues. I looked at different brands but saw almost all great reviews from hbs. I had a vibe when i took off quick on wet grass the first time but been perfect since and its been many snowfalls and trips to work in two winters now.

Bad News......I just called Moe's to check on when my front Bilsteins would ship....Nationwide back-order until the end of April!!!

I wonder how Bilstein can be that far behind? The shocks seem pretty popular.

Yes they are on nationwide back order we are supposed to have some arrive this month sometime, however this may very well get pushed back to April like a lot of others orders have, we are keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't though :)

If anyone would like to order a set we are currently taking orders for the front and we do not charge as much as the link posted above ^^^, if you are interested in ordering please feel free to reach out to us by PM, or posting in our vendor section, you can also email us at [email protected] (this is the fastest method) or call us toll free at 855-432-FAST, if you reach out to us offsite don't forget to tell us you are an RF member so that you get our best discounts!

Thanks
Jeremiah

These are far superior to the Bilsteins ^^^ However they are out of a lot of peoples budget, however if anyone needs a pair we have 8 of them in stock ready to go and they are $720 for a pair delivered to the lower 48!

If you would like to get a pair let me know via any of our contact methods and I would be more than happy to get you set up with a cart!

Thanks
Jeremiah

Hmmmm. Wish I would have heard about these prior to purchasing the Bilsteins, but I'm really happy with the 5100's so no big deal.

So I have been doing more research and read about the ball joint issue that spacers present in some areas, the bilstiens look good, but require you to pull apart your front setup. what do people think of the rancho quick lift offering?

Rancho Quicklift 2.25" Front lift 09-13 Ram 1500 4WD

It is just a little more expensive, but comes complete and seems like it would make install a breeze.

But you also need an alignment, so if install is the big deal you still need to go to a tire store and pay for the alignment. It might be easier and cheaper to just have them put on the bilsteins while they are aligning the truck. Les Shaub charged me 40 something dollars per side for the instal. But I'm glad to see all of these options which have to be better then spacers. I saw a poll online that was the dagger in me choosing to change out my spacer for the bil's, 321 people polled the prefer the bilsteins then only 22 people who choose coil spacer over on tacoma world. Those 321 people know exactly what they are talking about, it really is common sense when you think about it.

I personally think they are great! A lot of our customers do as well :), if you would like us to get you a quote on a set (they are not in our site yet) just shoot us an email, we are sending them out on a daily Basis about $10-$30 cheaper than that link you provided above based on your zipcode :)

Thanks

I wonder if they are really worth about double the price?

I have rode in multiple trucks, with multiple configurations, ranging from factory with just the ride height adjsutables, quick lifts, etc etc, to 4-6" lifts with them on top of them, I would rate the ride quality in the order based off what I have experienced over the last 2 years in 4th Gen ram 1500's 4x4's

Fox by far the best, Rancho better than any adjustable shock reusing facotry coils but not quite as good as the Fox setup, Bilstein is the best shock that resuses the factory coil, Pro Comp very close to bilstein at max settings but only has 2 settings 0 lift and max so if you drop the bilsteins to 2.1 or even 1.4 they are much much better rideing, Coil spacers close to factory sometimes worse.

This is just my opinion based off my experiences however they are pretty much inline with others that I have read :)
