Im wanting to replace the shocks on my Ram this year...mine seem a bit harsh when Im hitting small bumps, sunken manhole covers, etc...

Daily commuter, with a little dirt road use in the summer. Nothing crazy as far as off-road stuff.

2.5 level with rear bags.

70k miles.

Thanks for any input.

Type in Shocks in the search and you will find a ton of info :) There is a current thread as of yesterday !
Like you ,y RAM is a street Queen but 4x4 and mu OEM shocks are at 63k ! I want a smooth OEM type shock as no off roading for me !
For shocks Bilsteins Shocks seem to be a favorite , The 5100 are adjustable the 4600 are fixed !
OEM shocks
Fox shocks
and Ranchos are also liked
Other then OEM I DO NOT have first hand experience yet with the others but will soon :)

Best bang for the buck would Bilstein 5100s. Huge improvement in ride quality over the stock shocks.
Thanks...Ive considered the Bils, but they seem to have mixed reviews.

Ive heard this from others as well...What don't you like about them?

I talked to the distributor I bought them from and said I do like the way the stock ride is on the Rams, comfy for a truck. They said Bilsteins are way way better. Well they aren't, extremely stiff ride. Best quote I read about these recently is a member on here mentioned on the Jeep forums they say with Bilsteins not only can you tell when you drive over a dime, but you can tell whether it's heads or tails. Lol. That kinda says it all. And I have bought Bilsteins before, have they on a muscle car, so I am a customer.
Just don't like how the ride changed so much from factory, I was expecting some no doubt, but this is really stiff. Just my personal opinion.

yea, this is what scares me...I wanting the opposite of this. I want a more cushy ride that soaks up the smaller potholes and crap.

Basically Im wanting the truck to ride like new again, so maybe just a new OEM replacement?

I ordered the Bilstein 5160's today. I haven't decided what to do upfront just yet. However, I am finding out that I like my truck to ride a little firmer than OEM. I keep my AirLift 1000HD bags at about 20psi. I'm thinking the Bil's will be a step in that direction. I'm also hoping it improves handling while towing just a bit. The 5160's are a bit more than the 5100's but look super cool with the remote resevoir's!

Which model are they?
I will have to find receipt, Its the same ones Maxtrac sells with the lifted 2WD kits. Just I got the OEM replacements first, and later swapped to the Fox shocks from a different shop.
