Okay, here's a curveball to think about!!!!

My 23' Warlock 4th Gen (bought new in Feb 24') - I have always used the OEM MOPAR one-piece rubber flex wipers as I like the aesthetics of them and they have always served me well (especially in my previous bought new 19').

Typically I have replaced them annually in the late spring/early summer as I drive a lot, especially on the highway, and the wipers get peppered with road debris, etc.

So, in my 23' Warlock specifically, I've had to replace these same wipers every six months or so because a smearing pattern develops in the center of the windshield/center of the blades. But these center mass smears only start about 3 to 4 months after new installation and then considerably worsen until about the six month mark and I can't stand it anymore and have to replace them.

Okay, some may attribute this to "road grime / buildup on the glass or wiper blades, etc.", but those who know me here realize I'm on the high-side level of ensuring that my vehicle is in top tier condition. So, abnormal buildup on my windshield or blades isn't a contributing factor to this scenario in my opinion.

So, based on the overwhelming recommendations of the BOSCH ICON wiper blades on this thread, I just bought a set today ($31 each plus tax here in Canuck-Land). I'll be doing a thorough glass cleaning using an ammonia based shop glass cleaner from DOW, too - I borrowed a spray can from a friends automotive glass shop to ensure that there are no road grime oils, etc. on the glass after a thorough cleaning ;)

If I don't get more than 4 to 6 months out of these BOSCH ICON blades, then this is pointing me towards my windshield having some sort of deficiency. If that's the case my insurance policy covers brand new OEM branded glass on any part of my truck, so it'll receive a new windshield.

Any thoughts as to why this continues to occur on this truck?
For reference, this was never the case on my (bought new) 19' Express - just this 23' Warlock.

Try clay bar on your windshield. I can easily get a full year on the bosch icons and sometimes longer. The worst is Michelin from costco.

I ordered a set of Valeos from rock auto. Ive had them on my 1995 honda accord and they were fantastic. They're still quite a bit cheaper even with shipping compared to bosch icons. We'll see how long they hold up.

Good question...

I just went to the Dealership previously and was handed over whatever their system told them to give me.
They cleared the path properly and were the right size to properly fill the windshield cleaning area.

I believe they are 24" though. The Canadian Tire lookup thingy said 24A was the BOSCH ICON part number for the 23' Ram 1500 Classic, as did the BOSCH site for the same vehicle lookup, and the MOPAR Canada parts lookup said they are 24" blades, too (55277446AC).

Thanks.

Amazon and CTC list it as a 22", not that Amazon is correct too often.

I will check the owner's manual and measure what's on my truck.

The 24" are less expensive everywhere I looked.

I measured the wipers on my truck at 23". There's no size listed in the owner's manual, at least, not in the soft copy.

I've had very good luck with RainX on all my vehicles. I don't use RainX fluid though because of the issues they can cause for the reserve motor and sensor. For fluid I just get the cheapest I can find with the proper level of anti freeze rating.

I have used BOSCH ICON blades and I've also had really good luck with BOSCH FOCUS blades. Ive tried out both on multiple different vehicles. They both work really well and I usually get about a year out of them.

Just installed these new BOSCH ICON 24" blades today and they are the right size and work very well.

Currently, no more of the center mass smudging/smearing!

If this lasts past 3 to 4 months then it was a deficiency with the OEM MOPAR one-piece blades that I was experiencing previously.

If not, then I'm getting a new OEM windshield in August because it cracked from a stone chip ;)

I had decided on 24".

The wipers on my truck are the original OE from almost 4.5 years ago.

Time for an upgrade.

I use Bosch Spectrum Direct Fit (model C2207). They're about $20 apiece, and they snap right on. My truck sits in full Florida sun every day, a couple of blocks off the Gulf, and I can usually get a good two or two and half years out of them.

They can send Voyager I billions of miles into space and it operates for 47 years but can't make windshield wipers that last more than a year or so !

PIAA. Have tried most all of the other brands so far mentioned in the replies.

5.7 Hemi.....wow what a difference 10 years makes.....
I had a '69 Chevy van with the big flat windshield.
Blades lasted 5 or 6 years back then even in the smog of CA.
On my '04 I've tried different blades that barely last a year.
At first they're perfect.
Soon they start skipping or sounding like they are sticking at the end of their sweep, slow speed in the worst.
I've fiddled with adjusting the blade arms to no avail.
I just can't figure out why it's so hard to have decent wipers to clean the windshield these days.

My pickup is now 5 years old and my wife's Grand Cherokee is 6. Both vehicles have about 40,000 miles on them and both still have the original wipers. It doesn't rain or snow all that often when I am driving so they don't get much use in an average year. No idea why they would need to be changed every year, but they are also both parked indoors.

When they do need changing I will likely use Bosch.

I bought a set off of Amazon a few years back. Company is Parrotti, from Europe (not China). I figured they were like all the others- cheap and disposable. They have lasted two years or more on both my vehicles. They lasted and worked better than Trico, Anco, Michelin, and Rain-X. I do keep my vehicles either in garage or carport out of the sun most of the time. We do get a good amount of rain in SE Texas, but they still worked good in Colorado snow.
