Damn dude nice work with the sails does the front stage sound really wide now?

They arent hooked up yet. Im gonna wait til I get the rest of the components installed. Once everything is wired up, I will remove the sails and see if they sount better on axis. If they do, I may glass some custom sails.

Like so....

I can't speak for all tweeters, but when I finally got my tweeters on axis from the sail panels, I absolutely loved the improvement in detail, and they tend to sparkle a bit more too. Now that I have experienced them on-axis, I'll have a hard time going back to off-axis in future vehicles. I had to back the levels down a bit since they stare right at you. When I flush mounted the tweeters originally, our sail panels have a slight slope facing down so my tweeters were facing down just enough to drive me bonkers and I could here it when tuning. That's what made me go on-axis.
Nice work!!!

^^^ that

Although, I would recommend you do a little testing before you go the on axis route. I could be wrong, but with limited tuning capability I think it would be hard to not just hear the driver side tweeter blasting in your face and pulling the whole stage way left.

I agree that I'll prob never run tweets off axis again, but I didn't make the move until I was running an active setup

For sure, on-axis with passive crossovers have given some tweeters a bad name unfortunately. I agree, you have to be able to tame the level of the driver's side tweeter because it is right in your face...like 34-36" versus 55-58" for the passenger side. Time alignment is also VERY helpful for on-axis tweeters because you have to (or it's best to) delay the driver's side tweeters output to match the passenger's side....without these abilities with tuning, many many tweeters would be way to bright blasting your face/ears.

You guys seem to be talking a different language when talking about stereo systems. I really need to learn how to do this in my truck.

Trust me it has taken two years of reading to figure some things out that aren't in the normal to most outside of the car audio worlds. Home theater stuff now that gets confusing lol.

I find that car audio is like a drug...once you get a little taste you just want more. It's happening to me. I just wanted a little boost to my aftermarket coax's a little over a month ago. Now I'm all the way to the point where I'm probably going to get a DSP....

I'm really diving into now and having some fun. The guys on this board help out a lot, couldn't do it without the help and encouragement.

I'm with you guys. I've always had systems in all my vehicles, but never to the extent I have now.

Every one I build, I notice one little thing I wanna fix and Make better, then that leads to the next upgrade.... Where does it end?! lol

I said it before, read the first post of my thread... A speaker swap, a couple amps, and a sub and I was ready to roll. Skip to last page... Full blown active, DSP, tuning with a Real time analyzer eq software and a mic. And I'm still not done...

Car audio is a hell of a drug.

Horrible horrible drug cause while setting gains I noticed that my power and grounds have lose strans sticking out of them. With my addiction of chasing perfect setup I just spent 55 bucks on input terminals that would allow me to clean these up really nicely lol. FML wife is going to kill me.

Not quite to this extent yet but I'm going to look into some sound deadener. Yikes it doesn't end.
