Ok guys I need some help. I recently put bilstein 5100's on my truck set at 2.1". They look great and ride great. However I've been getting a little chatter or tick or rub in my gas pedal. It feels like it's on the driver side.
It's not a steady vibration like a tire out of balance. It's more like tick, tick,,......,tick and so on. Very random and doesn't do it all the time. So I got to checking myself. So I'd know where to point the guys at dodge to repair it.
Today after taking off the wheel I checked for wheel bearing play and there was none. Checked all the sway links, tie rods, and ball joints. When I spun the wheel I could hear a little rubbing sound in the cv axle right up against the diff.
This truck has only 32000 miles. I pulled and yanked on the cv axles to see if I could isolate the sound but both sides seemed the same except for when I spun the wheel and got that rubbing noise. It just did it like for a split second once every rotation.
Could the damn cv axle be bad? Could it be the intermediate shaft bearing? Could the bilstein lift have caused it?
