Have you guys ever bought any decent black lug nuts. I really don't want chrome lug nuts on my black and red wheels. I'm not even sure of the thread type at this point. Any help would be great.

When I bought my fuels from 4 Wheel Parts they gave me the option of lug nuts and I got some black ones. Check with them

Good info, thanks. So I found the thread type for the 1500. It's 9/16 - 18.

Anyone used spline lug nuts? Or Spec-D? I like the spline because it takes the "special" socket on all lugs, so they all look the same. The Spec-D's look sharp, but then I have to have the odd lug lock on each wheel. Decisions....decisions.

I have a spline like lug nut in black and they work just fine only downside is I have to remember whenever I get my tires rotated to bring it with. Probably should just leave it in the truck.

Dude, yeah! lol What if you get a flat. I find wheel locks funny in that aspect. You need to have them on the vehicle, but they're used to prevent theft. So they could break into the car and get the wheel key.

I like the spline, and they're a little longer which I think will look good on Moto Metal 961's.

I think I'm going to go with the black spline lugs. They look good, take a special socket, and should work well with the Moto Metal 961's I'm getting.

I know I know but my long 1/3 mile commute I could walk home and get it if needed since truck won't be too far away.

I know this might sound silly , but

ColorLugs - Home makes soft colored caps which
fit nicely over your existing lugs. They come in different sizes to fit
your lugs and they hold really well even through many car washes.
They're inexpensive and come in multiple colors.
I've used them for years

How does the black color hold up on these lugs? I run the chrome plated spline lugs on my rims and they are a couple years old and are rusty and crappy looking, so I was just wondering about switching to black.

Also not to hijack the thread... but with regards to this set
Black Acorn Bulge Nuts
These lug nuts are for use as a replacement for the bad factory lug nutsfrom Dodge that come apart. Designed to work with OE factory alloy wheels. These do NOT work with the steel wheels. These lug nuts have a large camfer seat so they will not countersink into the acorn socket.
Only Factory Alloy Wheels With Large Seat - these will bottom out if using with steel wheels.

What lug nut style would a person have to order for there truck.. When I bought my truck it had the rims on it.. So I dont know what rims mine came with originally.. or if the lugs on it now are original.. I agree black lugs look better when black rims then the chrome/steel ones look..

Anyone have any insight?

I'm hoping I ordered the right ones. I just ordered the black spline lug nuts. They look slim enough they should work. I think the problem with some factory lugs on custom wheels is the width. Then they're the ones with flat bottom, can't remember the name. I know ours are conical and that's what are needed for the Moto Metals I bought. I was just worried about the width of our OE lugs, that and I really wanted black, lol.
