Has anyone ever heard of clay or plaster being used on the body panels? I was in a fender bender on Monday and happened to crack and chip off a nice chunk of what looks like clay from the drivers side just below the trim near my tail light.... There is a nice dent under the clay/plaster.

sounds like body filler. it's kinda like plaster and used to fill in holes then sanded down. feels and looks a lot like dried plaster

Thanks. Was kinda hoping that it wasn't since I bought this truck used under stipulation that it had not been in an accident or had any body work done

It's bondo. Been there, sanded it off, re-applied. lol

I bet the PO backed into something and patched it with bondo.

Oh yeah, bondo for sure. A lot of bondo.

Personally, I'd just rip it all out and live with the dent until I could punch it out and do it right. lol
