Hey guys,
I am not having much luck on FACTS...

I am commited to putting together a Brembo Brake swap for the 4th Gen Ram...

I want to use a 6 Piston up front, and a 4 Piston out back... I am willing to even see if a GM 6 Piston Front Caliper would work even....

Who has tried what, and what FACTS are the issue as to why we couldn't use the new gen GC SRT8 equipment? Do we need a 2 piece rotor, or a bracket?

thats a good setup. I have that on my charger but its overkill for street use. Very sensitive but stops quick. If your not going to track the truck id go with a 4 piston front and 4 piston in back. I think that would be the best setup for street use.

Is a 4 front 4 rear good for towing? :)

The offset of the rotor vs caliper mounts is a big issue when looking at the larger calipers. You'll also have to look at your fluid proportioning demand. Rotors would need to be custom 2 piece if you tried this to get the proper offset based on where you can get the caliper mounted using an adapter plate. Your custom work would likely be approaching the cost of the Baer 6S 6-piston front brake kit. If yo start piecing together anything, look at the pullback and travel range of the caliper and brake pads you choose, fluid volume capacity of the brake booster, and then you'll need to determine the required rotor thickness with approximately .100" clearance on each side of the rotor.

The rear brakes would need a custom mounting plate, that's the easy set up if you wanted to do that. You have to make sure your proportioning is 60/40 split because you NEED the front to grab harder with the weight distribution of the trucks or you'll start skipping down the road if you're unloaded because you lock up the rear calipers.

I've played with and sold the 3- and 4-pistons SSBC kits for the front. They do a good job in the stopping dept in both cases, I think the 3-pistons had better stopping power over the 4-piston, however the 4-piston kit had less brake fade issues. I'm now running a hydrobooster with stock calipers and I have a serious brake fade issue when repeatedly coming down from higher speeds. Every time I have left the rear calipers alone because I don't want to potentially lock up the calipers on the back and lose the rear end traction and slew sideways at speed.

Has anybody run the Baer sport rotors and pads? Was thinking of running them next brake job.

I had Willwood 6 Piston fronts with drilled rotors on my S/C Marauder...those were $1000 for just the fronts. I can see $1K...but $3.5K? Wow...

The SSBC front combo is $1400 which is easier for most people to swallow but it's only a 14" rotor. The Ram packages are in such small demand that they're basically one-off jobs so I can understand the cost, plus we're talking about stopping 5500+lb, assuming you're not towing or hauling anything which could then add up to another 7000lbs to what the brakes are being asked to handle while stopping that rig heading down a mountain.
