Broken exhaust manifold bolt repaired

Easy job. 2.5 hours work. Bought a new Mopar manifold, bolts, and gasket off eBay for $100.

Is the heat just that excessive compared to other models?

Or is the design/weak grade of these bolts just that pathetic?
Seems like any IQ higher then 41 would make the call to upgrade these bolts after the first year of issues.
But luckily I don't think like most!

Or create thick enough exhaust manifolds that completely stops the warping issue!
I only want to figure out what exactly is the Root Cause----> Total Excessive Heat = (WHY)? Or extremely low quality parts?

Just the passenger side.

As much as I'd liked to have installed shorty headers, to hell with getting bolts installed in those things sometimes. The manifold is so easy to get on and off.
I used the Dorman bolt kit. Screw the Mopar bolts.

In the process of doin mine now. All apart same bolt broke.
Now im debating doin drivers side defore they break

I had a broken bolt same side and same place. Wasent bad at all, just glad it wasent on the bottom row of bolts.

They can't even figure out a .50 cent gasket for the third brake light and now we all want a permanent fix for broken exhaust manifold studs

What was your tools of choice for the drill bits and bolt extractors

Not sure about the OP but I used the Irwin Hanson 35 piece extractor kit and I little 12v drill. But, in you have a broken bolt on the bottom row you Will need a 90 degree drill. It's Very tight.

I also used Irwin Hanson. The 10 piece kit works great. Got it off eBay. Part # 11119

Watch this video. He goes through it step by step. Yes, it's as easy as it looks, just takes around 2.5-3 hrs.

My buddy who helped me with mine is a GM mechanic and said them and ford are both having the issue.

Not just a mopar issue.
