This seems to be correct. If you go to the Ram trucks website and build a truck it will only let you select the 3.42 ratio with the 6.7 Cummins.Call it what you like, it's a simple fact though. There is only one axle ratio, and unless you use TH it won't drop to first.
IIRC 2020 was the year they switched back to 3.73 from 3.42 due to complains an I think trans problems...3.42s have been the standard in the 2500s with a Cummins since ~2017-2018. I'm not surprised at all.
