I have a 2000 dodge 1500 360 and I just put a new used engine in it. I have everything connected my one plug and can't fine where it goes. Can anyone help? It's on the drivers side right next to the farthest back fuel injector. The plug isn't very long as it has to connect somewhere close but I can find anything.

ok kinda what I was thinking. I don't have any spark so I was thinking it might have to do with that connector but guess not. have any good tips for trouble shooting no spark?

Crank and cam sensor govern ignition, so I would start there. That may be apart of an egr system harness. If the new engine doesn't have one then don't worry about it as stated.

After further inspection, mine is connected to something. What, I don't know. It comes up the side of the distributor.

If I'm thinking of the same plug. It looks just like it though.

If it's the same one as on mine, it looks to come from the same area as the oil sending unit.

It doesn't plug directly into anything, there's another plug coming from the back of the engine.

That isn't the cam sensor plug, it's flat and I think two wire (reluctor type sensor) Tomorrow I'll look. I've done enough work on my truck I should recognize it but I can't right now

I looked through the service manual last night, but I couldn't find it.

I found out its the crankshaft position sensor. the sensor goes through the bell housing on the passenger side of engine. it has a wire that goes and connects to that wire
