Check engine light

I've got a 99 ram 2500 with 5.9 24 valve. Had Dodge flash a program to my truck that won't let the lift pump come on until after you put the key in the start position then back to run. Truck runs great. But I can't get my check engine light to go off. Got a Edge with attitude tuner on it. When I cleared the codes out of the tuner the check engine light went off for maybe a second or two but comes back on. There are no codes in the tuner now. Already unhooked the battery's for about an hour but no dice, light still on. Any ideas? Thanks

Can you get the code read? That will help diagnose what's going on.

Without it we'd all be guessing as to the cause of the CEL.

With the 99 I believe you need a diagnostic scanner. Many auto parts stores will have one and hook you up for free.

My local advance auto will lend you a code reader. Give your license to them, they give you the tool. Scan it in the parking lot quick. Write down code, give back reader, get license back.

If it's tuned, try setting it back to stock then homing code reader up. I noticed mine won't let the code reader connect when is tuned
