Is your outside temp reading correctly? If it is I would say you may be having a problem with your HVAC module. I would reccomend disconnecting the battery for at least 20 min to see if it resets. If it doesn't I would kind of lean to the HVAC module. It is easy to change and it's located on the passenger side dash on the right side of the glove box. Of course if you don't have a scan tool you won't know for sure until you change it because you can't check for DTC codes (diagnostic trouble codes) unless you have a scan tool. The heater control modules do fail on occasion so it's not out of the realm of possibility that is your issue and it would cost less to replace than it would to take it to the dealer to get it diagnosed. You can also purchase the alpha obd tool to check for DTC codes or another tool that is capable. If you may be interested in the alpha tool you can check out the (alpha obd) thread. Good luck let us know what happens after a battery disconnect.

What is your ambient temperature outside when you notice this?

Great! I recently checked the cabin filter and I think I unplugged that module to get at it. Maybe its loose.
It's in the 20's outside in MA.

If it's 40° or lower your mirror defrost will turn on automatically when you remote start your truck. Do you have heated seats? Also if you disconnected the HVAC module it may just need to reset itself. Once you check all the connections if the truck still acts the same definitely try the battery disconnect. You can access the HVAC module by removing the end cap on the passenger side of the dash. Its easily accessible when you have the passenger side door open.

Thank you. Now I want Alpha OBD!
I will check back in after I check the module. This all started shortly after I changed my blower motor. I bought an after market one first and it was loud. I now have a factory motor but the issue continues.

The alpha tool is definitely one the best things to come along in years for these trucks. You can check DTC codes and figure out what's going on with your truck if the issue doesn't clear up plus you can add factory options in pretty much any configuration you want.

*Update* I Unplugged and reconnected the module behind the glove box. So far so good. Thank you for the help.
