Recently my 2014 Hemi 5.7 1500 check engine light came on. Ran a diagnostics test on it and got the code "P219A Bank 1". Got a laundry list of things it could be, so far i figured out its not the o2 sensors. Just bought it used from a lot with 100,517 miles. Purchased it a month and a half ago and this started happening out of nowhere, they are being very helpful and fair and gave me the warranty i denied at first for free so this will get fixed, just wanted to wrap my head around what this might be and if anyone else has had this similar problem with this year, I've heard of this more in the 3rd gen Rams but haven't seen much of these issues with 4th gens like mine. Also to note, since this check engine line has occurred ive noticed a decrease in my MPG and kind of a delay when gears are shifting while accelerating and decelerating. The ticking has gotten worse as well, does not stop at all while engine is running. I'm assuming its a lifter probably destroying my lobe on the cam shaft...

I also have to wait 2 weeks for this warranty to clear before the mechanic can repair, is it a horrible idea to continue driving the truck like this in this condition for these 2 weeks? This is my only vehicle and obviously i still have to commute to work 5 days a week. I would love to save the money and not purchase a rental but i will if it saves more major problems in my engine.

All thoughts and similar expierences shared are appreciated, thanks.

Sir, I absolutely hate this for you. The same thing happened to me but I did not have a warranty.... This is my story

Because mine sounded like two aluminum baseball bats slamming against each other....
In my case it ended up being a seized up roller. AKA the HEMI tick.
I wanted to keep the truck, so I ended up just throwing a rebuilt Jasper engine in it.
Do you have any ticking or clanking in your engine?

Ironically I watched your first video “Hemi Click” before starting this profile on this page documenting the day you discovered the noise. I will follow up and watch the others... did get a lot out of your comment area too, thanks buddy.

I just got this same code....bank 2 air fuel imbalance. First one was stored, then I got three readings the next time....stored, pending and permanent. Some motor noise on the passenger side, but not a whole lot. Service advisor said not sure what it is via email. 162,600 miles on the motor, 2020 Rebel.

Is this always the fatal roller problem?

Generally the "fatal" problem will make itself known by a LOUD ticking that increases with RPM. If you've done any work on engines and know what a failed lifter sounds like you'll recognize it immediately. If you've got codes but no loud ticking it may be something else.

I've had that issue before in my 5.7. My fix was checking the intake manifold bolts. They had loosened up on one side or the other causing that code to pop.

If memory served 219a is drivers side and 219b was passenger side

Yep, heard it many times in the older trucks, but never in a newer one like this. After getting it back due to lack of available parts, it's not the lifters or cam. Manifolds on order they say.

Yessir, that's what the dealer said and they are on order. Weirdest thing is the other day I was in a hurry and left the driveway on my little FM road in a big hurry and floored it. I thought to myself if it if the lifters or cam I am about to know it. Nothing unusual until yesterday morning, the CEL is now gone! Been on now for a week and I have driven over 500 miles since leaving the dealer. Manifolds should be here in 3 more weeks.
