I have the exact same code. Cleared mine a couple times, however engine not overheating and light hasn’t come back on. Code is stored though.
It was +25C here in Ontario and my teuck ran around 193 and dropped back down. That’s the only time it has been that high. It has been running around 180-185 when right hot and Coolant up to 203. AC fan comes on as I checked them. Truck doesn’t overheat while sitting and idling either, it did throw the code twice, both while sitting. Cleared with tuner and hasn’t had any issues while idling since. The only dumb mistake I made was cut into my under the hood lamp and quickly patched it up. Got the code right after doing that. It appears the wiring for the under hood lamp is tied into the cooling fan unit, not sure if these wires are exactly tied into together or just in the same wiring harness. However that’s where I’m pointing to my issue, wiring. Could also be relay. It’s behind the grill, right under the crossbar, by the horns. Well it’s there on my 2011 1500. I have a bunch of body codes and Codes that start with U. I believe my TIPM May be on the way out. Truck drives fine other then that.

Do you get any type of rumble whenever you rev your engine to a certain rpm, either parked or driving? 1500rpm to be exact?

I know when ac is on, the electric fan kicks in and should be on when your coolant temp gets around 210, may differ somewhat, but it should come
On to assist in cooling the engine. The clutch fan is suppose to run all the time the engine is running.

So i got cooling fans to come on with ac. Not sure what i did but had to hit snowflake in center dial and not just turn to cool.

Ill have to monitor. Code popped back. Up. Then i messed with it. Pulling fuse and lo relay.

Error says circuit 2 which i beleive is high. What detemines low vs high and wers is high relay.

Also. Is this coincidence but this happen. After i insltalled led back up pods and wired. Into revese bulb wires

Could led be goofing up fan circuit?

I doubt your reverse lights have anything to do with the cooling fans.
You can check your fuse box under the top as it should point out the relays. Also behind the horns on the grill crossmember, there is a relay there as well. I got this code again yesterday, however my engine doesn’t over heat. I believe I have a bad TIPM. I have been dealing with this code for about a month and a half now, can’t remember! I just clear it whenever it decides to pop up. I’ll eventually get it looked at but I have other bigger repairs I’m doing right now. My truck drives perfect and doesn’t overheat at all when idling.

Engine fan (big fan connected to the engine you can see) will always run when the engine is running. If you can stop the fan when running (don’t try with fingers, use a rolled up new paper or book) or if you can’t turn when engine is off, then the fan clutch is bad and needs to be replaced. The other electric fan is kind of hidden behind the engine fan under the rad shroud. It should only kick on if your engine reaches a certain temp 212, not sure. Also when your AC is on. You can visually inspect, however watch yourself around the clutch fan (engine fan). If your relay is bad, it’s sending the signal to the PCM to turn on the fan. Could be fuse/relay, or bad wire/connection. I’m
Sure someone else with more info/knowledge will Chime in on this issue.
