Core 4x4 rear upper and lower control arms

You guys just made my mind up. Core 4x4. I was wondering if upgrading over stock would make a difference, and this thread helps. Now if I do, only one choice.

To add to Gary's post ,there's also been a few issues with the Spohn arms breaking the ends off their locating arms,usually only an issue on the higher horsepower trucks with sticky tires.In the world of suspension products you get what you pay for,and Spohns stuff is definitely on the lower end of the scale as far as quality goes.Cheap isn't the way to go on suspension components, if they do break,it could kill you.

Just to add to the Spohn Arms, I threw away over $500.00 on 4 of their arms and their adjusting tool based on some clowns U tube video with a ********* Ram stating how great they were. I should of known better just by the mans vocabulary and voice alone let alone the fact he tests control arms by spinning donuts. So I got sucked into his line of BS and figured Spohn had changed their ways and would give them a shot against my better judgement. I used them about an hour and they have been standing in the garage for the last 10 months any one wants to pick them up you can have them . Not shipping as I am not wasting another minute on them. Since then the same You Tube clown has a new video saying how poor the Spohn arms are and now Core is great which I agree. I have no question about any arm using actual "Johnny Joints" on their arms. I have used them for years on my Jeeps.

These are a huge improvement over stock. The stock arms do a very poor job of controlling the rear end. They allow the rear end to meander around a good bit. When you swap the arms you will be amazed how much more stable and confident the rear end is.

I kinda think he needs to be checked but then again I pissed away $500.00 . He probably got his money back or paid for them with a you tube video.

That would be Joey,lol. He's a good guy,but does get carried away at times promoting things that aren't quite as good as he thinks they are,then he finds out down the road he made a mistake,lol.The latest nitrous build on here is also his,lol

Can anyone tell me pros and cons of getting the teir 3 or the teir 4? Looking along the lines of DD with usage as a light trail rig weekend warrior type thing. Down the road going to do a 4” zone lift in front with the fox coilovers set about 2” most likely and a 4” procomp rear lift box kit because the procomp kit drops the control arms from the frame instead of relocating brackets on the axle and the zone 3” lift springs with a 1” spacer and fox shocks

The main difference is that the tier 4 has a johnny joint at both ends and on the ram, arms are left and right hand adjustable so they can be adjusted on the truck.

I would recommend go with the Core pan hard bar as well. let me know when your ready and we can get you a quote

On the back of a Ram 1500 a JJ on one end should be sufficient . On my Wranglers my control arms always have JJ's on each end and are what they call dbl adjustable so you expand and contract them without removing an end. Its easier and more precise , A 1500 Ram isn't going to need the amount of flex we get with the Wranglers

Tier 3 is sufficient in most cases. Gary2 explained it pretty well. If you were 4 wheeling often then I may say go for tier 4.

I had CORE weld on a tab with a nut and bolt when I ordered mine. They only charged an extra $10. Be nice if that came standard, but in the end maybe it's not an issue.

Well I got my Tier 4 Core 4x4 rear lower control arms and installed them this morning ... As soon as I got it done took it for a drive around the bumpiest street roads here which are everywhere lol and man I was able to feel the difference.

I used to feel the rear end want to jump all over and sometimes it felt like I would or could lose control of the truck ... now on those same roads I felt that way I was like holy crap !

These control arms are no joke ... very much worth the price and they are not even that expensive either .... I highly recommend these to anyone who has a Ram ....this should definitely be one of the first mods or replacements everyone does to their trucks ...

I have learned there is a very small drawback with all that control. With other mods and the much better transfer of power it is pretty easy to put a truck sideways on a wet road and doing it at 70 mph on the interstate is a little hairy.

Hmmm. I never did notice that or have that problem with mine after the arms.
