decided i'm going with a whipple,,so

1. I see the mighty mouse catch can on the website is for "mild" , is this can big enough for a whipple.

2. with having an ATI underdrive pulley on will that lower the boost pressure output and should i get a different pulley for the supercharger.

3. which kit to get, i see one has everything included but i dont need the controller part. but the other kit doesnt come with injectors and fuel pump. or just get the everything kit and sell the controller.

4.already have headers but reading the whipple tune is for "stock" will this tune get me where im going to get my custom tune done, or is this something whipple does depending on which mods got done.

5. anyway to make the mopar sport hood CAI work with a whipple or go with the recommended CAI.

Not sure in a lot as I'm looking into myself I do know the ati pulley will increase boost over what it should be. For example a 10lb pulley will be closer to 12. Not a huge issue but could cause over boost and whipple tune likely wont accommodate that boost.

Anything over 8# will go boom very quickly. Plan on pistons and rods after installing at 10-12# of boost.

^ Incorrect. He has an underdrive pulley. That will decrease his boost. To overdrive the Whipple, you need an overdrive pulley.

To the OP, I too had an underdrive pulley on my truck, when I installed the Whipple I put the factory pulley back on. Not fun.
Also know that the factory Whipple set up runs 9 pounds of boost out of the box. Things will get awful sketchy if you try to run that through a stock bottom end for any length of time. It's also not fun as a daily driver, due to the on/off properties of the Whipple. I actually purchased another pulley from Whipple to get comfortably within 6-7 pounds of boost, and it's still ridiculous.

Oh and plan on $4000.00 or so more than what you were originally planning. That way if it goes boom, you have enough money for another engine. :)

You're welcome.

Oh, and I got an S&B to work with the Whipple, so with a little finagling I'm sure you can get the OEM ram air intake to work.

The Mighty Mouse setup will work with the whipple. That’s what I run on mine and it works well. Hardly ever get much build up of oil. Mainly moisture in the colder temps.

The stock whipple tune should be good enough for it to run with your existing mods, but you’ll need a custom tune. I’d only run the whipple tune to drive it to whoever is tuning it.

Probably one of the best lines written in this thread. How true this is.

so why take the ATI off if it decreased boost, which is what u did by buying another whipple pulley. is there something wrong with running the ATI underdrive pulley?

It's just a whole in your wallet using the underdrive pulley. Sell it and recoup some of your money back.

Because you don't know for certain what the final boost number will be with the ATI. Put the original pulley back on and if you need to change the SC pulley to modify your boost parameters, it takes 5 minutes to change the SC pulley and a LOT longer, and much more of a pain in the a** to swap the crank pulley.

so do you know anyone running an ATI with the whipple? in technical terms if you're putting out 9 pounds of boost out of the box then with ATI you "should" be at 7.65 boost ( not sure if thats actually how it works). and on the ATI when i talked to hemifever, he says run it but now that wasnt when i was going to do a supercharger, just in general mods i was doing.

I've seen built motors with an overdrive pulley, specifically to overdrive the SC, but not the other way around.
