Hey folks, I could use some advice.

I have a 2011 Ram 3500, 6.7 Cummins.

My new CP3 pump failed after about 125 miles on the truck.

I would like to know what could have been the cause?

Also... I can't get the pump shaft off of the gear.

There seem to be two plugs that look freeze plugs blew out. Gear is seized on the pump shaft.

I had replaced the injectors, common rail fuel lines at the same time I had replaced the CP3.

I can't get the gear off. I took the timing cover off to gain better access. I have special tool, ended up breaking a bolt on the tool.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried to heat the gear hub (not the shaft)? If not, try that. That would expand the gear hub while helping to overcome the fit.
