After it tossin the codes again I think its not a trans issue I think its a ABS wheel speed sensor issue hence the U1418 code.. I'm hoping its related to what I read here... I know its not on a ram but probably similar and I know I have a issue with the SS on the wheel as its held into by a zip tie... I think the dealer broke it when I had the rear diff done.... I have a new sensor I just need to put it in... its a pain in the ass getting under this lowered truck... I sometimes miss my old Ram where I could sit under it to wok on it... never needed a lift... it had one on the truck
Info found on another forum
U1418 - Implausible Right Wheel Distance Signal Received:
1. Set Condition: The PCM gets an implausible signal over the Can C circuit from the ABS module or the FCM (non-ABS). The circuit is continuously monitored.
2. Possible causes:
a. Vehicle speed sensor fault active in ABS module.
b. Can C bus shorted.
c. Can C bus open.
d. Faulty ABS module
e. Faulty PCM
3. Diagnosis & Repair:
a. Test vehicle speed sensor. Failure = replace.
b. Test ABS module. Failure = replace
c. Test/visually check ABS module harness connection and wiring for damage or loose connections.
d. Test/visually check ABS sensor harness connection and wiring for damage, dirt, or loose connection.
e. Check/Clean main PCM harness connection.
f. Test PCM (StarScan)
There's not much here besides checking the wiring and connections you or your bud can do. If you've replaced the right rear wheel ABS sensor, that's a good first step.
Cost at the dealer will be one hour diagnostics time (shop rate) + parts and labor to replace the faulty component. Cost will depend on what needs to be replaced. Hopefully it's an ABS module vs. the PCM!
