Should I worry or is this just a fluke thing... I got cut off this morning got pissed off and hammered the throttle around the idiot and then this popped up once I let off the throttle a few seconds later.

Keep an eye on it, but you know what a "Gear 4 incorrect ratio" typically entails. If it doesn't come back again then you're fine.

Yup, a new trans.... I've only got 20k on this truck so I don't know if it had a rough life before me.... But I was planning on doing a trans, Just not right now. That was going to happen when the back half of the truck come off.

I'll have to keep an eye on it, it goes in for a regular trans service in the next couple a weeks as I approach 100k and don't know if its ever been serviced. just gotta make time and keep the appointment. Baby kinda got in the way of the last one I made and I haven't had time to drop it off again.

WOT downshift will do it every time. Hopefully this was a fluke, but if it comes up again, I would take it in before doing any more damage.

That's the plan, usually I'm more conscientious and manually down shift but I was pissed at the douche... I'm going to try to take it in for service and inspection while I'm out of town next week into March.

I'll admit I'm neglectful and have never even looked at the Trans fluid on this truck. Most stuff I have just taken it in and said fix it... not my norm but just don't have the time myself to deal with it...

It's so **** WOT downshift can kill our trans. By the time you manually shift to the gear you want. I lost the race..hahha

I hate seeing these threads, makes me nervous to do any sort of WOT driving, even though I make sure to shift down beforehand. For the "6 speeds", we want to be in 2, 3, or 4 on the ERS? I know 4 is really 3rd in normal driving scenarios isn't it?

After it tossin the codes again I think its not a trans issue I think its a ABS wheel speed sensor issue hence the U1418 code.. I'm hoping its related to what I read here... I know its not on a ram but probably similar and I know I have a issue with the SS on the wheel as its held into by a zip tie... I think the dealer broke it when I had the rear diff done.... I have a new sensor I just need to put it in... its a pain in the ass getting under this lowered truck... I sometimes miss my old Ram where I could sit under it to wok on it... never needed a lift... it had one on the truck :roflsquared:

Info found on another forum
U1418 - Implausible Right Wheel Distance Signal Received:

1. Set Condition: The PCM gets an implausible signal over the Can C circuit from the ABS module or the FCM (non-ABS). The circuit is continuously monitored.

2. Possible causes:

a. Vehicle speed sensor fault active in ABS module.
b. Can C bus shorted.
c. Can C bus open.
d. Faulty ABS module
e. Faulty PCM

3. Diagnosis & Repair:

a. Test vehicle speed sensor. Failure = replace.
b. Test ABS module. Failure = replace
c. Test/visually check ABS module harness connection and wiring for damage or loose connections.
d. Test/visually check ABS sensor harness connection and wiring for damage, dirt, or loose connection.
e. Check/Clean main PCM harness connection.
f. Test PCM (StarScan)

There's not much here besides checking the wiring and connections you or your bud can do. If you've replaced the right rear wheel ABS sensor, that's a good first step.

Cost at the dealer will be one hour diagnostics time (shop rate) + parts and labor to replace the faulty component. Cost will depend on what needs to be replaced. Hopefully it's an ABS module vs. the PCM!
