If your cruise control sporadically works and you don't have a CEL, you probably need to either replace the switch in the steering wheel or it's connection is loose.

It may be a thing called the Clockspring

There are wires that go from the steering wheel buttons & go to the center of the of the steering wheel, then travel down along the steering wheel column.

If there was not a device that keeps those wires from twisting as you turn the steering wheel all the way to the right & left, those wires would snap off.
The device that they use is called the Clockspring

Older thread, but the buttons are easy to replace, the hardest part is popping the retaining springs for the airbag. The springs are accessible from the backside of the steering wheel, I did take off the upper and lower column covers. Looking at the wheel the springs are at the 1:30, 6, 10:30 positions you need to get beside the spring and pry away from the center of the wheel. last time I found that getting a flat screw driver in place, push on the airbag(horn) then prying it popped easier.

All that said, in my case, I've replaced the buttons, the steering control module(both parts of the clock spring) and the brake switch sensor and I still have the issue. The cruise buttons and the brake switch sensor were fairly cheap($85/$30 CAD respectively) the Steering control module was like $350CAD

Curious of two things.
1. Has it been fixed, if so what did they do?
2. I have the same truck, I have seen where the cruise stops working, you hold the "Gear+" button for 5 seconds and it works. Is this what you have/have you tried that? Mine frequently will stop turning on and I have to gear+ to make it work then it works for a while, then randomly won't turn on again until I hit gear+ again.
I am here to look to what causes this and the power windows to stop doing the auto function, they work, but don't do the full up or full down with a tap. That gets fixed by holding the up switch for 10 seconds after it goes up, then hold down for 10 seconds after its down, then hold up again for 10 seconds. Both of these randomly stops working right are getting old!

Anybody see a true fix anywhere I would appreciate it too!

For the window up/down issue, it possibly the switch loosing constant power which causes it to forget the window up/down. I had this happen on a different vehicle, the wire would break just when the door was opened and then eventually just stayed broken. The wire broke in the harness between the door and the jam.

For years on my 2016, I pressed the + and - buttons simultaneously, and if that didn't work, any combination of cruise buttons.
Always worked.

I am on my second time replacing my cruise switch and I have done my clock spring once.
I have never read the "gear up+" trick. Gonna try it when i get off work. My cruise just went out for the second time last night.

My uconnect wouldn't accept my phone either today. Had to do uconnect factory reset to have it bluetooth again to my phone. P.i.t.a always but I love my truck still.
