Hello everyone. I have a 2016 Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4 with the 5.7. I looked on the tag on the door jamb and saw the GVWR, but could not find the curb weight anywhere. Does anyone happen to know what the curb weight would be with this particular setup? Thanks

Also, it has the factory 20" wheels.

Not sure I know Kyle 4x4 crew cab express weighs 5600 with me in it and 2 car seats and kids. So I would say 5200ish maybe

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk all grammar errors brought you by fat fingers and auto correct.

Take your GVWR which would be 6900 and subtract the payload.

The payload is listed on the tire and loading sticker.

We will say your payload is 1400

6900 minus 1400 curb weight is 5500.

Curb weight is full fluids. (Fuel, oil, coolant, washer fluid, etc)

Then if you want your actual curb weight with any accessories or cargo...go to a CAT scale. You can download the app and for about 12 bucks you will know what you have your truck at.

input above should put you close. FWIW, i have a crew cab 5'7 bed 4x4 5.7 truck. i have mine weighed and it was exactly 6000lbs. But i have a 4" lift with 35" duratracs. So your quad should be around 5400 5500

It will give you your exact base weight. That is how they figure it.

Then anything you add(accessories, tools, etc). Will add to base weight

Anything you take away (spare tire, tailgate, run out some gas) will lower base weight.

Thank you Gentlemen! You guys have always been here with an answer. I came up with 5402lbs for the curb weight.

I bought my truck while I was working in ND. Now I am back home in FL and need to get my plate and tags. Here in FL they go by the weight of the truck. 5000lbs and over, it's cheaper to get registered ($200 compared to $400). The lady looked up my truck in their NADA book, and she said it was 4910lbs. That just didn't sound right to me. Looks to me like they are going to have to go with the manufacturer's information and not their NADA book.

They just told me that they go by the shipping weight. I am guessing that would be considerably less than the curb weight.

I am not sure what you are considering curb weight now.

The truck is weighed at the factory to give payload.

GVWR minus base weight is payload.

Base weight in this scenario would be (in my opinion) curb weight, shipped weight, etc.

The only possible difference would be at shipping it has 5.2 gallons of gas...may be then I guess you could speculate that it would be less the difference from full (depending on tank size)

Ok thanks. Should still be well over 5000lbs.

In my state of Pennsylvania you can pretty much register it whatever.

But, you should register it for GVWR. A 4th gen or 2wd 5th gen (both 6900 GVWR) could be registered class 2 which is up to 7000.

A 5th gen 4wd is 7100 GVWR and should be registered a class 3 which is 7001 to ?(atm).

They have been cracking down, and if you haul a trailer often it is becoming in the best interest to register for GCWR which is 13900(3.21) or 17000(3.92) on a 5th gen 4wd.

You should at least do the combined rate of what you pull to be safe.

That said, not many do and the chances are still slim to get caught, but the possibility is growing.

This info from a friends fines and an ongoing discussion about it, and seeing more and more contractors and campers getting pulled over in Pennsylvania.

Just some thoughts, nothing else
