First off, I want to say how fun and helpful it has been as a new member to spend hours and hours reading about all the stuff you all have done to your Rams, your reviews, your troubles and especially the pics.

I want to lower mine a little, but dont want to get into all the issues of the wobbling , etc. The few write ups where people have lowered the rear just slightly to level seem to work fine with no wobbling issues. Anyone know different?

Myself, I am mechanically handicap. I found a local shop that I trust that will cut my springs for me. If I read right, cutting 1.50 spring out back should be good for a 2"-3" drop and cutting .50 turn in the front would be good for 1". I like the "rake" and would like to some of it ... does this sound about right in everyone's estimation?

The plan is down the road (maybe next bonus) to replace wheels+tires+full blown lowering kit w suspension upgrades.

I am also curious on this for my 2011 CC Sport.... I am interested in just levelilng the back out to meet the front, which is 1.5-2" drop... was looking at the Groundforce rear kit, but it replaces the shocks as well and I dont need to go that far right away.

Is there a safe amount to chop off the factory springs without having a wobble issue or any tracking problems without the use of a panhard bar?

In my very humble opinion, don't waste your time. If all you want is a couple inches here or there and your going to go through the trouble of pulling the coils out anyway, just wait. Wait to you can afford the 400 bucks and buy a drop kit.

Maybe not the adivice either of you guys were looking for, just my opinion. No half-steppin 'round here.

Its not a bad option, granted what I really will probably do is just order the McGaughy 2" drop coils for the back. For that little of a drop, its not worth or needed to change out the shocks as well, so its just wasted money that could be spent on other mods.

Used for 10k, and he's still wanting $160, when you can get them off Moe's for $230. I would go new at that price differential.

Maybe if the springs were $100-120, you would save some and get over the rust factor.

There were a couple of spring sets on there and I'd haggle they've been on there for a bit.

Buying a kit doesn't mean you have to get one with shocks. They sell kits with coils only. Like you repeated, this is my suggestion.

I wouldn't bother picking up a set of 2" springs unless you plan to return it to stock if you ever sell it, then it'd be worth it. You don't need to change shocks for only a 2" drop, and cutting your stock springs is a viable option, just take your time and cut a little bit at a time, reinstall and remeasure. I just cut down a set of 2" drop springs last week and they were in/out of the vehicle 5-6 times to get it where I wanted it to be. Also, rotating the spring in the pocket allowed me to fine tune the last 1/4" and now the rear is dead level side to side with a 1" rake front to back.

I did this on my 2011, and now my current 2013. I did .5 coil on back and rear 1.5 coils. The rear is so pathetically easy to do, just the front springs can be a rear ***** getting out and back in (driver side was hardest for me). However, truck sits cleaner now IMO. Looks more sporty and rides the same. For the time put in, you save yourself $400ish for a kit. All is needed is time and tools.
