Will a 1991 318 automatic dodge transmission from a van work with a 1988 d150 318? and also the truck has the Throttle body injection, one of my buddies put a glass fuel filter one of the inline ones you can buy at oreillys on it, can that restrict fuel flow the truck shuts off after a couple minutes idling and sounds as if its running out of fuel. despite a new pump, new stock filter, and new injectors. And with the TBI will it still run right if i rip the enviromental junk off of it save for the o2 and map sensor?

You may want to take a look at the fuel pressure regulator on the throttle body. It's on the back side of throttle body. You can also look in the throttle body while the truck is running and look to see if the gas is spraying from both injectors when it starts to die.

Those see through in line fuel filters are notorious for leaking and catching vehicles on fire, edelbrock makes a similar one that can be had for $11 or so online and isn't prone to leaking.
