In the past I replaced the radio and speakers in every vehicle I ever owned shortly after purchase. In the case of my 2014 I've done nothing. Overall I'm happy with the stock radio in my RAM but at the point now that a speaker change would provide a nice improvement in sound quality.

So, my search is now what speakers for the dash and the doors (crew cab) would work well with the stock radio? One other criteria is that they fit without having to do any added fabrication. Been there, done that, I just want a fast and easy install.

Or, leave them alone, and wait a few more weeks for the Kicker 4.1 amp. This made a HUGE upgrade to the factory speakers. I wanted to rip everything out of it immediately, and they beta used mine for the new 4.1, and it made a world of difference...so didn't change any speakers out at all.
It adds power, built in DSP for better sound imaging, and clip limiters.

Is it going to work for both alpine system and the standard system?

For now, non-Alpine.

These things retail for around $1200. Kicker Digital Amplifier, Subwoofer, Enclosure & Geek Squad Installation for Select 2009-2012 Ram Trucks - Best Buy

He may be talking about something different though. IMO at that price point, you might as well just upgrade everything else.
That's the entire kit, power sub, powered front amp, etc. That's high end retail there too, you can find it much cheaper. if going aftermarket, add in amp, power wire, sub box, DSP, RCA's, etc.

Jbl's

I just put JBL 329's in the dash and will be putting 938's in the doors this weekend. Got all six speakers for $174 off Amazon. They're 2ohm and have a high sensitivity so I'm hoping they'll do fairly well with the stock radio. The 329's needed some small modifications to fit in the dash - removing the plastic surround and the tweeter grill. Took all of 5 minutes and they make a significant difference over stock. Will update once I get the doors in.

Thanks for the reply. All the pics I've seen of the front door panel off I just didn't see any reason it wouldn't unless the opening depth wasn't enough.

They have great reviews.

If you have a CC, should be same, maybe depth changes on CC vs QC.

Crutchfield says alot of 6x9s don't fit and it's usually because of the speaker harnesses they ship their speakers with. There isn't room in the back for them, but if you splice the wires you're fine.

The depth is less than 3 inches and is stated in their website. A majority of the 6x9s on the market are a little over 3 inches. But something that is 3.25 inch will fit like my kickers.

As for the harness... Just The Metra 72-6514 adapters and make them plug and play. They come in pairs:

I fit the ds series and they are about 3.25 inches. If the cs series are similar, they will fit.

Oh the dash speakers had a smaller adapter so you'll have to splice those.
