Anyone ever install one of these vinyl trim kits? Currently I have an '11 Laramie trim kit with the wood grain and I think I would like to give
It a carbon fibre look. Just curious what your thoughts on these are and if they look good or if they end up looking cheesy http://www.dashkitspecialties.com/DERM09B.html

I just looked them up on my phone. I didn't see what it really looked like (actual pictures of the product). For the prices, I'd think it's some pretty good stuff.

Several years ago, I bought a dash kit for a Montero Sport I owned and paid about $160 for it. I was really impressed with the quality of it. It was a thicker material and once it was on, it looked stock. People couldn't even tell that I had installed it. I just can't remember who I bought it from. Found it on eBay. I remember their diagrams looked very similar to these.

I was looking at this as well on Carid website. I've done a carbon kit on my last 07 Toyota, looked great. I think most sets are pretty identical.

But way back in 01, I put a set on from ebay. Looked cheap. the edges were too "puffy" instead of tapered to the dash surface so it just looked like very well cut carbon stickers put on the dash surface. I think they're all a lot better these days, just conjecture though.

I'm probably not going to do it, mainly due to cost (already threw too much $$$ on farkles into a work truck) and the fact the inside of my truck is routinely covered with saw dust, concrete, dirt, etc.

I like the carbon over the wood trim ones but I don't like the ones that pop out, I rather they sit flat. Link you posted they look ok. Tint your windows good so the sun doesn't warp them or ruin the glue side.

Can't speak for all kits, but every stick on kit I have seen in person looks cheap and comes off over time. The pictures look great but I would be hesitant.

He doesn't seem to post here much anymore, but I think BlackRamHemi had a kit like this from Carid in his truck. Looked pretty good from the pics he posted and I think he was happy with it.
Edit: can't seem to track down the thread now of course.

It's a process that chemically bonds to just about any surface that can be sanded and primed I recommend starting on smaller pieces I did all exterior plastic pieces / antenna trim and washer squirters so much cleaner than thick 3m stickers laying across pieces. Hope this helps .
