I get this message almost every time I try to voice text in my 2016 Ram 1500. It has the 8.4 N radio, and my Samsung Galaxy S7 is compatible with the system. Any ideas? Is it my truck? Or is it a setting on my phone? BTW, this worked flawlessly in my 2015 Challenger. Same phone, no settings changed

Remove the Bluetooth profile from both the head unit and your phone. Then do a hard power off/on event of your phone and then setup the phone profile again on the head unit.

When software updates are pushed to the phone, sometime the sync between the head unit and phone needs to get reset.

I have noticed in certain locations my RA4 8.4 says the same thing. I have been told that the voice texting actually works through the Sprint network. I started paying attention and noticed that when this happened I was in an extended area where Sprint has bad service and my Uconnect icon would not show the little 3G emblem. It actualy has a little X where the 3G would go. I am pretty sure your Challenger works on the same system so if it is working OK in the same area it would seem the the problem may possibly be your radio having a problem connecting to the Sprint network. If you can't figure it out you might want to take a trip to the dealer and see if they can help. At least that way you are documenting that you have a problem and hopefully eventually get it figured out. The voice texting is one of my favorite features on my radio. I use it all the time.

Hi Kapt,

I would recommend deleting and re-paring your phone like Hootbro suggested. If that doesn't work you can try and do a soft reset of your Uconnect system:

1) Turn your vehicle to ACC or RUN (if you have keyless start push the start button twice without having your foot on the gas or brake pedal)
2) Hold the phone and voice recognition buttons on your steering wheel down for 30 seconds
3) Let go of the buttons
5) Turn your vehicle off
6) Open your driver's side door for 60 seconds

After this you can power your vehicle back on and see if the problem persists. If it does I would recommend visiting your local dealership for further diagnosis.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've tried everything but the soft reboot of uConnect. I will try that on Thursday, my day off
