So they say they activated it but it was night when I picked up, so... do the DRLs only come on when the truck is in D. Because in park its off, unlike my 2015 300. I turned the lights off while in D and the ambers stayed lit. Did the same in P and the ambers were off.

They come on when you shift out of P. They work in R, N, and D.

I have projectors btw. And so I'm clear, the turn signal bulbs are repurposed as both DRL and blinkers, correct?

Yes. When DRLs are on and you move the turn signal lever, the corresponding turn signal LED light will blink on and off.

Jeff, what does adding that number to the VIN do and is that something the have hook the truck up to do? Can see them charging for that. Really that's all it took to enable yours? That be great.

Adding the sales code to the VIN tells the BCM to turn on DRLs. Razzman provided the "how to" after your post. Sorry for my delay in response, I had not been back to this thread until today. Yes, that is all it took to enable mine. Dealer did it for free and it took them about 15 minutes.

I will ask the service department about this, not confident they will have a clue.

Would anyone know if they have to pick the code from the list? Or does it need to be "added" to the list, then selected? If that makes sense...I only have 2 dealers in town and both gave me the same answer, saying the code isn't available.f043dd3bdba7d97948345a2f5378cdea.jpg

My understanding is that they have to add it to the list first, then they select it

That would make sense to me. I appreciate that. I'll see if can have them look a little harder next time.

My 18 CC Laramie had the DRL enabled. I wish I could turn it off!

Can’t you just buy a tuner and turn them on too?

Yeah you can but it's generally cheaper or even free thru a willing dealer.

OK, you guys are going to have excuse my stupid question. It is because I have a regular cab with quad lights ( you cannot get factory projectors on a R/C). So can I turn on the amber turn signal lights as DRL's? If so which code am I suppose to use/turn on? Thanks......

They are a software option on most any Ram. I have a 2017 Sport and the dealer programed them. He found them under a Canada option since it is required to have them there. On mine, they are the LED strip under the headlights. they are not on in Park or Neutral but turn on in gear.

That's what I am hoping for. Have not had a chance to take her in yet, but not real confident that they will have a clue as to what I am requesting. Will see.

For you guys that have the DRL activated....let’s say it’s dusk and you want to just turn on your parking lights and fogs, do the DRL lights turn off and revert to the dim parking lights or does it stay bright with fogs?

That is an interesting question. I would guess they will dim when you use the switch to turn on your parking lights. I think the switch takes priority. Someone here with that setup could test this for us [emoji6]
In my case (Projectors with LM5 code I think) when I turn on the parking lights, the amber LEDs come on at the reduced level, but my DRLs (High beams at reduced power) will still be lit as well. It's only when the lowbeam receives power that my DRL activates.
