Daytime Running Lights

Great thread. Gonna have to visit the dealer. But in the mean time, I bought a 2 inch foam paint brush and stuck it between the windshield and the sensor. Leave the headlight on "Auto", and it's not DRL, but lights are always on at startup.

Same basic idea, I found some rubber caps at a local auto parts store and trimmed it a bit.

Just checking if there has been any recent attempts and successes at the dealership activating this? I have the 2018 Sport with projectors. I actually tried to have the dealership try this going in for recall fix and they couldn't find the sales code but from what I heard, it has to be added then activated correct?

Update: Contacted my service advisor and telling him about the instructions and he said that info is confidential so, word of advice, maybe put a warning on the instructions for us and don't spread the info around too much. Might lose this privilege.

It never ceases to amaze me the things that the dealer will tell people. If it’s intended to be confidential, he better call FCA and let them know. The instructions can be found by anybody on ram’s website under body builder.
Anyway, everybody just uses AlfaOBD to enable them, now. It also puts the option in the radio settings to turn them on and off.

Have you watched this:
Watch his other videos on how to use AlfaOBD also.

Between the videos and that list I was able to turn on the dedicated DRL outputs but you can select wherever you want.
Keep in mind when testing, that DRLs will not turn on if the truck is in park or the parking brake is set. Do not select DRL drop out if your using the low or high beams, people have had problems with trying that.

What headlights do you have? and list how your trying to configure them AlfaOBD.
Did you check the radio for the DRL setting and see if that needs to be checked ON?

Yes. There is nothing about drl on the radio. They are spyder headlights.

I'm guessing you originally had Quad headlight? Which lights are you trying to turn on as DRLs?

I believe that all dodges can be reconfigured to have day time running lights. Day time running lights are Law Canada. And I have been told by a few mechanics that all they had to do is turn on a switch in the software. When we bring US trucks to Canada

Select DODGE RAM 1500 or 2500 or 3500
Select BODY COMPUTER > MY2013-17 (2018)> CONNECT





















Click on the CAR WITH THE OPEN HOOD
Click on PROCEDURE TO START Select PROGRAM CUSTOMER FEATURES

Click back on PROGRAM CUSTOMER FEATURES
