My (new to me) 2014 EcoDiesel’s vertical fogs do not work.

The bulbs appear good, and I read 5.7-6 volts at the sockets regardless of fog switch position.

The fog switch on the light dial does not laminate when the headlights are on.

The fogs are on the can-buss and do not have a dedicated fuse.

There are no error or bulb-out messages.

Any thoughts on what to check?

Push the dial to turn the fog lights on?

Yes, push with no discernible click or indication that any switching is happening. It is as if there is no switch at all. And it is an original OEM setup.

If the dash indicator light in the EVIC turns on, then the switch is working. The push in to turn on the fogs doesn't make any clicking like a typical switch.
What happens if you try turning the fogs on with the ignition on but the engine not running?
Are they halogen bulbs or LEDs in the fogs? The LEDs may need an CANbus anti-flicker module: https://www.diodedynamics.com/canbus-anti-flicker-module-pair-connectors.html
or use AlfaOBD to change the bulb type for the fogs.

There’s no indication either from the switch itself or any dash indicator whether the fogs are on or off.
These are standard OEM 9006 Sylvania halogen bulbs, not LEDs.

Run the VIN on this website: https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing
It will give you the build sheet, check to make sure the truck left the factory with fog lights. It's possible someone added them after the fact and if the dealer did any updates it could have un-programmed them.
It could just be the switch is bad and the BCM doesn't know to turn them on. The push to turn on is comparable to pushing a key on a computer keyboard, there is no indication on the switch itself.

Depending on how tech savvy you are, it maybe possible to troubleshoot the problem using AlfaOBD.

Checked the build sheet and the fogs are factory.
Looks like the switch may be the issue.

I see the OEM headlight switch 68269912AA is a modular unit that slides in from the front with four spring tabs on the side.

Any tricks on releasing the tabs to remove the switch?

Had to replace the HL switch on my 2015 1500 (no fogs on mine). My lights would be on even at running lamps only position. Had to switch to auto to shut them off.

Use a plastic trim tool to pop the module out.

5 minutes to swap out.

If you swap the switch and and it still doesn't work try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Sometimes the canbus doesn't properly recognize new hardware until a reset.

Got a new switch module on order. Thanks for tips. [emoji1695]

I popped the new switch module in and the fogs work. [emoji1303]
I took the old one apart but didn’t see anything obvious.

FYI I got a good deal on an unbranded but identical module. I received a Mopar OEM part. [emoji2]

Do you have a link to the one you got? My fogs are dead too
