If they are fixing it for free and it comes out good, I highly highly doubt you will get anything else. Crap happens.

Could be worse, I signed the paperwork on a car a couple years ago and the porter backed it into a flatbed tow truck across the back hatch. Luckily the dealership was cool and let me pick out the same car in a different color, which worked out in my favor since it wasn't the higher mileage "new" car.

You can ask for whatever you want, I bet you get nothing.

you might convince them to throw in an oil change due to the inconvenience but beyond that good luck

Accidents happen...they are repairing it. As long as the paint quality is up to par, I don't see a need to try to get more than that from them. That's like rear ending someone, paying them the repair cost, than the person you rear ended requesting more than what was damaged...doesn't make much sense to me.

Only thing I would ask for is a loaner vehicle. Not really entitled to anything else.

I would just be happy that they're fixing it without having to fight them over it. I would just make sure the quality is top notch.

They scratched it and said they would fix it. That is the right thing to do. You should accept that because it's the right thing to do.

The dealer i bought mine from scratched it, took some items out of my truck and pretty much told me to prove it. That was MOMENTUM VW of clear lake. I'd let the local bum on the corner clean my truck before i ever took it back there again. At least I'd be expecting stuff to be missing

At least they owned up to it. My dealer scuffed my front bumper cover and denied it happened at the dealership. I'm meticulous about my truck and I know it wasn't there when I dropped it off. Fought with them a bit and they reluctantly agreed to buff it out.

It wasn't bad or anything and you can't even tell it was there now, its just the principle that they flat out denied it at first

Idk I'd just be happy they're fixing it...

One week after I bought a 2500 I had it at the dealer to do some work They scratched my door . They are painting the door. What do you guys think would be appropriate for me to request from them in addition to the repair due to the fact my new truck is no longer is factory painted?

Careful there are a lot of Ram fanatics on here, they are brand and dealer loyal to a fault. Some have little else to do but write adolescent comments when members like yourself are dissatisfied with their truck or service they received from their dealership. To them you expecting the dealer to compensate you as a good will gesture for your trouble aside from repairing the damage they did is ludicrous. Really??? I bet they would comment quite differently if it was their truck.

Legally, you are only entitled to being made whole, not enriched.

On the dealer's part (if I were the dealer), I would offer up something like your first routine service free. A happy customer remains your customer.

Sorry to hear that.....I got to the point of doing a walk around with the service writer before any work is done. At least they stepped up to fix it. If it's a quality repair, you're good to go.
